There's a hardcore Richmond supporter attending one of the academies. I don't think it's a terrible idea if clubs funded academies in NSW/QLD.

I'm sure most of the RWO followers know by now but just wanted to post my excitement on Mills performance on the weekend with the reserves against the Gold Coast Suns. 40 disposals and near on 150 DT points against an AFL reserves team as a bottom age junior! If that's been done before I'll stand corrected but I highly doubt it! If this doesn't get eddie and his boys club jumping up and down I don't know what will! Frankly I'm surprised it isn't all over the news media already just to push his agenda! But seriously, how good is this kid gonna be!Comment

my gut feeling has been he will be better then Heeney
I find Mills work rate just mind blowing............he is an elite competitor and quite often single handily generates a momentum shift in what ever team he has played in by simply increasing the speed of the game"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Heeney, Mills and Davis all playing in the 2's this weekend...can't wait to hear how they go!
This probably needs its own thread but this is the 2s team for the weekend I believe (taken from Big Footy)
B: Zak Jones, Tommy Walsh, Matthew Dick
HB: Harry Marsh, Xavier Richards, Jordan Lockyer
C: Isaac Heeney, George Hewett, Daniel Robinson
HF: Callum Mills, Tim Membrey, Brandon Jack
F: Abe Davis, Toby Nankervis, Pat Mitchell
Foll: Sam Naismith, Tom Mitchell, Ryan O'Keefe
Inter: Nick Hey, Michael Dickson, Jack Hiscox, One to be added?
I'd say at least 1 will be the non-playing emergency for the seniors...possibly HewettTwitter @cmdil

when you look at that side and the comments by the reserves watchers you realise
1. our midfield depth is virtually guaranteed
2. our kpp depth is ordinary.
basically you could throw zak jones, heeney, robinson, hewett, mitchell, mills and jack all into the ones over the next 2 seasons.
talls though ???Comment

Yeh we're a bit light on for talls that's for sure - particularly down back... but if Tommy Walsh can continue this stellar form he could slot in nicely for us, what are his skills like?
Also there's no reason AJ won't come good with his knee.Twitter @cmdil

The problem with hoarding depth in talls is that if they are good, they don't want to hang around, being depth and playing reserves in the meantime. As you need fewer of them, and their structural importance tends to be more significant than the smaller players, there is less of a chance of them being rotated through the senior side. So if you are a Jones, or Hewett, you might back yourself to be at the head of the queue when a senior opportunity opens up and you can be confident that the odd opportunity will open up. On the other hand, if you're a Membrey or Walsh, you know that you are not going to get rotated into the side to replace Buddy, Tippett, Reg or Ted. You have to wait for injury.
We do have a few goodish taller players but all with question marks - Walsh: will he hang around? Johnson: will his knees let him get back to the footy we know he can play? Reid: what is his position and how long is he happy being a man with no true portfolio? X / AA: how quickly can they develop? Membrey: how fit does he need to get? Is there a leading half forward position for him when he does prove his fitness?Comment

Agree Liz, you cannot hoard talls. I know kin near beats on has said in the past they are either critical or complete busts from a draft perspective. If a midfielder fails you might be able to recycle them as a defender.
AssumingbTheb hair joins next year we will have Allir Allir, AJ, X so not bad depth.
Walsh might get another contractYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment
