Swans Academy and player watch

The Swans already know the athletic potential of the Academy players. Would it be draft tampering if Heeney and Davis deliberately scored way below there bests in the athletic test scores? The recruiters would then think they are not top notch AFL potential athletes.
This may lower their draft value, which is better for the Swans.Comment

It would absolutely be draft tampering, and if there was ever a suggestion that a club had influenced a player to underperform, either at the combine or during the season, to reduce their perceived draft value, there would rightly be a huge stink. The Swans already know the athletic potential of the Academy players. How is this for strategic draft combine management. Colin Scott's was an Australian born athlete who played in the NFL as a Defensive End. The key fitness tests for his position were his score in the 40 yard dash (speed) and the bench press (strength).
In the weeks leading up to the combine he focused solely on his speed (40 yard dash). He stopped upper body lifting to decrease his size. This in turn improved his speed.
At the combine he excelled at the 40 yard dash and reported that he had a significant shoulder injury. This means that his strength was not tested at the combine.
He got himself drafted because his speed was excellent.
What a strategy!Comment

Yep, after conducting ourselves with dignity throughout all of this, let's lower ourselves below the level of Eddie and his cohorts and give them a genuine reason to attack us.The Swans already know the athletic potential of the Academy players. Matt, you are a genius......
Seriously, do you actually follow football (as in have any knowledge of the game) or do you just spend all your time trolling on here?Comment

I asked if the process would be deemed draft tampering? I did not say do it.Yep, after conducting ourselves with dignity throughout all of this, let's lower ourselves below the level of Eddie and his cohorts and give them a genuine reason to attack us.

I love my football. I thought that trolling was the process of making comments online that seek to defame and hurt individual people. Trolling is the sort of vile activity that led to Charlotte Dawson's suicide.
People on Red and White know that I'm overwhelmingly positive towards individual people. I've made positive remarks about people such as Maquire, Koch and Nathan Buckley.
Why do you deride me so much for:
- seeing the positive traits in people even if you can't.
- discussing what Swans players should be traded. That is a supporters forum and opinions should be expressed.
- speaking about the Swans lifestyle surrounds, which I believe gives us an advantage in recruitment and retention.
- floating different strategic ideas.
Can one of the administrators whether it's Scott or Liz please make a call on whether they support people like Mug Punter, who are continually being negative towards me or tell me if my posts, opinions and ideas are out of line?
Please post your findings live so we can all have full transparency.
If I have any supporters on Red and White who enjoy reading my posts please help me out now because this concerted attack here is out of line.Comment

I enjoy reading your posts Matt80 - don't let the mug punters of this world get you down.
We are all fans of the Swans, and I like some of your 'out there' ideas.
Nothing wrong with people throwing some ideas up on the forum.Comment

I want everyone to be able to have an opinion without fear of being attacked. We don't have to agree with what is said but please let's not get personal. The Red and White community is better than that and I have enjoyed coming here for many years.Comment

Matt FWIW you have my support. I don't always agree with what you have to say, but you do provoke thought and debate. Some responses you receive are at times intimidating and domineering. In others words bullying.and it is not acceptable.Comment

Happy for Matt to keep expressing his interesting opinions but what I've found to be turn off is the repetition, the length of many posts and the somewhat preachy tone that is often used. Just tone these aspects down a little Matt and I'm sure you'll be treated with RWO love and respect....Comment
