I know the series cops a bit of flak from those that don't think it's football, but I found myself really missing it last year. Can't wait for the 23rd :-)

I have no idea why Goodesy would want to go on this but he should be captain from that list.

It's all good. Rewards the best players of the year. Bonds relationships between players of other Clubs.

        Thank God Fev isn't going.

Tadhg's conducting a personal tour after it? Speaking of which, Tadhg is itching to play for the Irish and McKaigue and Brendan Murphy are chances along with former Pie Marty Clarke.

I don't rate the series as I hate the round ball and we don't pick our best 22 players plus I have a feeling with the new "softer" rules brought in this year to get the Irish back on board, I will become even more anti it.

Well done to the boys selected though, representing your country a great honour anytime but don't get injured thank you!

Don't know who Bruce is but he needs to better his research....
And not one captain from the AFL's 16 clubs was named in the new-look squad.
I wonder if he's referring to Swan the Dane variety or Goodesy?

I always leave a comment on Herald-Sun articles that have mistakes about the Swans. So far, not a single one has been approved for publication on their website....

I actually like watching it, but would hate someone to get injured. I also like being able to barrack for players who are usually wearing colours which prevent me from doing that. (Swan, Fletcher).

With the inevitable Irish digs about there being no skill required to play Aussie Rules, http://www.independent.ie/sport/gael...d-2325280.html

As it happens, they play it with an oval ball, which in a kicking game reduces the skill level even further.
I wish they would play with our ball for once.....

The FoxSports news version of the squad suggested it was McVeigh, M. rather than J. Not sure who to believe but I guess we should be thankful a Shaw wasn't selected either.

Kennelly let out of the bag a couple of weeks ago that McVeigh, Goodes and Jack would all be joining him in Ireland. So it seems certain it is our McVeigh, not the other one.
