Although you are correct, it does go against having a "bloods culture". The players do get rewarded for their job, they don't play for a packet of fags and a case of beer as they used to decades ago. If you want material return on emotional investment you can always bet on games. Players can't buy a premiership they have to win one and watching players crying on a losing team on Grand Final day does show that the players do invest emotionally into the outcome.
Kenelley was given an opportunity to play back in Ireland to fulfill his dream and then given another opportunity to come back to the Swans and take a place on the list. I would expect that it would only be respectful of him to tell the Club before draft day that he was not returning and not drag this whole thing out to February like he did last time and leave the Club minus a player for the season.
