I confess upfront to a fudge on this. I'm assuming that Bradshaw and CBolts will play cameos through the season, and maybe in the finals if they're each still in one piece, but I seriously doubt they'll play a full quota of matches. If I'm wrong, they'll replace White and Reid respectively, and White will compete with Lewis II for CHF. With that proviso, here's mine:
    TDL White McGlynn
    ROK LewisII Shaw
    McVeigh JudeB Jetta
    Tadhg Reg Smith
    Mal LRT Reid

    Mummy Jack Kennedy

(res) Hannebery Seaby Goodes (sub) Rohan

(emergency, alphabetical) Bevan Bird Everitt Mattner Moore Pyke Richards

Much as I admire him, I think Pyke is going to spend a fair bit of time in the ressies adding a defender's string to his bow.
The ressies should do very well in 2011!

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

He'd be in my starting 22 way before White.
Yeah, I would be happy to see LJ2 get a run in the first 4-5 games in front of Jesse. If he is struggling after that give him a run in the 2's. But I would also like to see Reid given a number of games too (I just watched the Blions game again) but, unfortunately there is just not enough spots in the team to give them all a run.

Yes - I see him as becoming more of an impact player as he moves into codgerhood, midfield rather than forward and one bloke you definitely want on the field in the last five minutes or so of any game where it's close.

Remembering Bradshaw watched Alastair Lynch play well into his 30's as a very good full forward. I'm sure he learnt a lot from that.

Well because Johnston hasn't proved anything. 2 years ago there we're the same reports coming out of the reports about White as there are now with LJohnston, but he has a steep learning curve in front of him when he does make seniors. I don't expect White to be picked each week, but it's his spot to start.

White probably divides fans more than anyone else. He is not in my best 22, not even close.

I do agree with you aaar, but sometimes he does things that are just Jesse and noone else, and then you think "nearly!, getting closer", and we all are hanging around the edges waiting for the AhHa! moment of his life when it all comes together. I think we can recognise that he has something unique to offer the team, leap, dense body, big hits, growing awareness, quicker reflexes and a natural protective/setup instinct for his smaller teammates (think Blindside - that's where I place him). So I would rather persist with him, while acknowledging he is not in the best 22 yet, but ......its all there.

I agree, either way he has earned being picked in front of LJ, and when LJ gets his chance he can proove himself and step up that ladder as well.

To me LRT and Seaby aren't walk up starters having been out a good part of last season the only exception is C Bolton a class act when he's fit.

Agree! However White has already had much game time invested in him and the club is waiting for some returns from this. I think we were all waiting but it never came. Johnston is an exciting prospect who could literally be anything. If he is injury free and has a good preseason I would have him in before White. White in particular benefitted from a run in the 2's and came back more determined each time. It won't hurt him to start in the twos. He was not picked for the last Final we played and maybe just maybe they lost patience with him? If he comes good in the two's then I would have him back in because he is such a big item but I have lost hope that he will be the next plugger.

Reid is probably ahead of LJ. There will have to be quite a few injuries before LJ gets a chance IMO.

why is it just about none of us have Moore in our 22...........yet our coaching dept favoured him and said how important he was in the role demanded in the forwards..........??
