Jesse, I hate to be the one to tell you, but you are posting on a Swans Fan Site. That does make you at Least a borderline Tragic.......AND you are posting in the offseason......now honestly, I ask you, (put in every cliche you can think of), not a Tragic?

Does this work out for games in Sydney? If so what are the seating arrangements?

Unless I get free entry to the games then I can't see any way around this.

Nothing wrong with loving lots of sports and having memberships in many (my love for the roosters is testament to that) , but I could NEVER buy a membership of another team in the same sport. I won't be attending any games other than ones my beloved swannies play in, because along with my emotional investment, only they will be receiving my financial investment.

I can't fathom how so many supports jump ship or have multiple allegiances. Then again I'd call myself a die-hard fan.

Each to your own I suppose, but GWS won't be getting anything out of me apart from my scorn. I don't like how over their development they've looked to undermine the Swans, using us as a vehicle for their success. I especially don't like the comment Sheedy made about our dual history and how GWS would be the only true Sydney team. As a matter of fact that is one of the reasons they suggest on their website you should buy one of the their bull**** foundation memberships. The AFL distribution over the academy areas is ridiculous as well and the Swans have very much lost out.

I don't want GWS to fail at all, but I won't be contributing to their success even though I've always been a western suburbs girl.

If I had much more money coming into the bank, I'd consider it, just to help AFL grow in Sydney etc etc. However, I'm (a) too cheap and (b) usually too lazy to head out to ANZ stadium (or wherever in that direction GWS will be playing) anyway.

I'll watch the games on the teevee though, maybe even cheer them on unless of course my Swans are kicking their Giant butts.

$50 to watch them play in the NEAFL next year is a bargain. But after that, I don't think I'll be able to afford 2 memberships.

Instead of paying a GWS membership, you could pay for plane tickets once a year and give yourself a game to Melbourne (or anywhere other than Sydney). Take the partner, and you'd still be better off! Get your fix, a break, meet new people ... and support your own team!!

PS: Yes, I have given up the idea of paying for a SUNS membership here for the same reason - I will probably come to Sydney or Melbourne for a game or two instead!

Nah, I'm a swans member, Melbourne Victory member in the A-league and I am considering taking out a membership for the new Melbourne Rebels side that will start up next year in the super 14's-15's-16's...or whatever number it is. I apologise to my Sydney based fellow Swans supporters in advance for my next comment, but I will no way ever consider take out a Storm membership...cant stand league, dont mind Union, but cant stand league.

I must admit that taking out the 'better' Vic based membership last year that allows you to go to 6 non-swans games in Melbourne free of charge came in handy as I went to 4 Collingwood games with friends, 1 hawthorn game and 1 StKilda game. I'll most likely take out the same option...if available.

On the subject of memberships, has anyone received their membership rewewal packs yet, I havn't received anything. I'm not too fussed, I'll renew when I go to the family day thing in Port Melbourne on the 5th of Decembe, but I'm just surprised that nothing has been sent out yet. I've got a couple of Collingwood and Hawthorn friends who have not only had theirs sent out, but they have already renewed their respective memberships for 2011.

I will be buying a Giant's membership for one reason...I LOVE AFL!! The Swannies will ALWAYS only be my one and only AFL team who I will follow until my day's end.

However...I also love the sport of AFL and I hope that the 2nd team succeeds in Sydney to help the growth of our great game. Buying a membership will also help me save money rather than buying a ticket at the gate each week.

As has been mentioned earlier in this thread, you would be better buying an AFL membership with Sydney preference. I'm not completely sure, but I think that would give you access to other AFL

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

I don't understand this. The AFL membership only seems to apply to games at the MCG and Etihad. Unless I am missing something I don't see how this would help a Sydney based supporter.
