I've always called him Tiger. It's only a problem when we play Richmond.

Then again, since the Christmas party, I think of Big Al as "Kitten". It must have been the scene on the white baby grand. Sorry Geoff.

The Club wouldn't be making a killer profit on seats at functions - if they're making $80 a head, good on them. I got a quote to put on a function for 80 people, finger food, 10 different pieces of stuff. $3.50 x 80 x 10 = $2800. Then you have to factor in the drinks. It's quite pricey. To put on a sit down, three-course dinner with alcohol is considerably more expensive.

Unlike rugby clubs, we are not subsidised by poker machines. Our money comes from the members, sponsors and the AFL. Any extra money we make is a good thing for the Club. It benefits us all.

Member/supporter contact with the players has never been better. The fan day at the beginning of the season this year was fabulous. I'm pretty sure the players loved the interaction with the members as much as the members loved the interaction with the players. It set the mood for the whole season.

If you really want a fix, you are more than welcome to go down to training any time you like ... and I'm sure if you tell them you're coming, Kenny will set up a sausage sizzle.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

                  Well said, Annie.

The Swans back office isn't exactly overrun with staff numbers, so don't be too hard on them! They've got to have a few thousand members each to take care of. Personally I'm quite happy that my membership dollars aren't spent on a big support staff.

As for the Christmas party for the ambassadors, I guess their role is to give "free" publicity, and help get corporate dollars into the club, and since I haven't had any luck selling corporate boxes to CEOs, I wasn't that surprised to not be invited.

I'm looking forward to my free cap and the fan day sausage sizzle... Cheer Cheer, Swans fans!!

Good for you Kirky! At least you are putting an effort into getting close enough to CEO's to attempt to sell them corporate boxes! I don't think I have ever met a CEO, and I don't count Barren-Hay, he didn't arrange an invite! Hope the caps this year are nearly all red and fit my head. And that the kids are given marking pens on fan day to make a mess of my jumper. And that they have chilli gormet sausages. Happy christmas!
