I thought Bevo played a lot better than Moore who likes like he trains on a diet of beer and Pizzas, and plays like it with a devastating lack of pace.

No one that I can see has ever had a go at Bevans desire or effort and I have said in previous threads that he was less crap than usual this year. However he is an average AFL footballer at best and is not in our best 22. He will need a lot of injuries for him to play seniors this year. This is a view held by a lot of supporters and not just the "ignorant" on RWO as you so crassly put it. Remember just because people don't have the same view as you does not make them ignorant.

I'm with Nico on this. Bevan makes a lot of mistakes because he gets to places - but he is a straight kick for goal and can play either end or even in the middle. Moore is a one dimensional one paced forward pocket. Moore is rarely in the place you hope him to be in let alone the place you need him.

the idea that he is some amazing star or the glue that holds the forward line togather because he points and waves a lot just mystifies me. my clear recollection was of a very similar situation at the bigger subiaco where we won (but that was despite him not because of him as those who try to give you a statistical guide to his performance think) against freo.

The selection was unfathomable to me at the time, but then I've watched the australian cricket team this summer so unfathomable selections are something i'm getting used to.

I'm not suggesting he is a star, he is a trier who is on the fringe of the best 22. If you re-read the posts in this thread though you'll find he is treated extremely harshly. He was one of our best in the Carlton final and was extremely unlucky to be dropped for the doggies game. He would have been more effective than some of the underperformers that night.

Harbrow has made alot better players then Jarred Moore look bad..............the guy is a pin ball wizard !!

                  zip zip man.......

but anyway back to teh post re Bevo............every top 4 team needs guys like Bevo on the fringe so that multiple roles can be filled in when the top 18 or so are injured etc

Bevo usually does that very well relative to what is expected of a non starting player in a solid side........

I thought Mooore was genuinely better in 2010 than Bevan.

In 2009, it was the other way around. Bevan was all over Moore.

Probably why it's so hard to split them.

On paper they were close in 2010.
                          Bevan:

                          * Dream Team (DT) and Supercoach (SC) stats only include regular season. GA - Goal Assists, I50 - Inside 50s, GC - Goals Contributed (G + GA)

I agree, Bevo should have played as his form was better than Moore's. I believe Reid should have played that game & he could have been the difference. Bevo is good forward, it is in the backline that he makes his major stuff ups & mainly due to the pressure from opposition mid fielders. Our midfield hasn't exactly been winning any awards for defensive work or clearances lately, better last year than in 2009 but still below standard. If you look at our defence, Shaw stuffs up regularly (probably play forward a lot more), Mattner stuffs up regularly & Teddy stuffs up regularly when there. I think Teddy will finish his career forward the same as Bevo.

Moore's goal return is very poor for a small forward. Bevo had more shots for 1 goal less & he played mainly in the backline, that says it all really.

Bevan had less tackles and gave away more frees and played mainly in the backline. Says it all really.
