..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I love it how at the highest level ,all the unwritten rules and understandings of Football can be completely ignored. "Bad Kicking is bad football" in Jetta's case ignored! Is there any level of football where kicking 19 consecutive points would not result in a run in the reserves to get your kicking back on track? Particularly when a very talented high draft pick was languishing in the two's and itching for a go. But!!! How can you criticise the Swans selectors after the debacle of the Australian Cricket selectors? Its like if you were chosen in the Australian Cricket team to bat for Australia and you couldn't score runs !! So then they made you Captain! Now that would never happen would it? At least after 19 straight points they didn't make Jetta Captain!
I love the excitement machine but already a different set of rules seems to apply to him.

Yeah I seem to remember that but I don't think it was for very long and he kicked poorly there too but still got promoted.Doesn't really change my point. Seem to remember his first goal was a reverse banana. That was all last year! I am really positive about him this year though. He showed us some great glimpses last year and at least he got game time into him and obviously learnt a lot.We should reap the benefit of this in 2011.

I was excited when we picked him up in the draft and I saw nothing last year to lessen that excitement. He will be a crowd favourite for many years to come.

Totally agree. (is that a first?) He has that X factor that IMO turns games. Seems to do it all so naturally too.I imagine he just loves to get a kick so he is a coaches dream. Apparantly young Lamb has a bit of the X factor too? Jetta to Lamb=goal could be a call by the end of the season.

He was demoted about round 10 wasn't it, went back to reserves and was BOG quite easily, with white also kicking 8 goals. I think they were both promoted after that.

You've lost me here, Harti. You've said Jetta wasn't worth a rating because he can't kick, and bad kicking = bad football, and he allegedly still can't kick even after the stint in the twos that you demanded. Now you're claiming that this sub-par footballer is a matchwinner. Have you too become over-excited over the excitement machine?

He is just exploring both sides of the argument

Sorry for the confusion.I got a bit too excited as you rightly pick up! I think and hope we have a before and after situation. Before he kicked that major and played well in the Finals, he kicked 19 points straight and this was BAD Football. I thought at times he was lucky to hold his spot and guys in the twos were unlucky not to be tried. Then he was dropped, apparantly played well and was promoted again. Then he played well ,kicked a major and deserved his spot BUT thats all History! That was BEFORE!

                        Now:
This season, with experience behind him I am truly excited by his potential as a match winner. I am not the only one excited either, just listen to the crowd when he gets posession and starts to run!!!
