Spoke to Andrew Ireland last night. Said he'd trained strongly for a month but pulled up a bit sore, so they've backed it off. Was confident he'd play round 1 and believes they're better placed to manage him this year than they were last year.

      Cheers.

Well I'm officially sceptical, I hope beyond hope it all works out with him. But possibly being NQR for 3 years is a bit poo.

Oh too good to be true with braddy re being fit and raring to go, if we can SOMEHOW manage his fitness on a week to week basis and get 15 games (he will not play 22 games in a million years) out of him for the year then we have done well IMO. This knee problem aint gonna go away unfortuneately.

Great, so when they increase it again he will most likely have the same problem!

Maybe, think he meant that the key is to have him right on match day and not over-do the training. Said Leo played a lot of footy with the same problem.

I trust our medicos. They got Micky O to 300 games and I still don't know how.

I think this is exactly the right approach - an opportunity to blood some of the young forwards as well.

Ok, if thats the case then surely we wouldnt want to play him with the potential of the knee flaring up during a game? We'd be 1 short and he'd would be taking the spot of another forward who is fit (eg. johnson). I dont recall leo having a knee problem, must of missed that one.

I'd personally be prepared to take that risk, as Bradshaw's going to provide significantly more than Johnston (or anyone else).

I don't really remember Leo having a knee problem either, perhaps it was well hidden. Either way, I'm sure Ireland knows.

Leo used to be on crutches Mon-Wed but I can't remember why.

Heath did his knee at the end of January - about 5 weeks ago. LARS is a 12-16 week recovery, so 7-9 weeks makes sense.

If we are relying on Braddy and C Bolts to push us into the top 4 it could be a long season. Especially if we are relying on LRT and Tiger playing 22 as well. Time for White, Reid and Johnson to show their true worth IMO.
