Nah, Its Luke Parker. Only blond hairbear with spikes left, but he played Saturday so perhaps not running on Sunday, let me reassess this and suggest it may have been Eugene who is very blond and didn't play .... probably somewhat early to run Campbell Heath, both of them are similar size/shape to LJ. Next thought, is LRT. He is running and has the hair, but he is a lumpy runner so if it was smooth and easy......back to Eugene.

Jesse was at Blacktown running one of the kids clinics on ground. With a big smile.

Being a bloke I can barely remember the colour of my own hair let alone somebody elses. Very impressive Primmy.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Of course he was smiling, one of the kids probably kicked a goal! I've seen few happier people when a teammate kicks a goal (even if it's a guy he's competing with for a spot) than Jesse, he reminds me of the kids in my son's basketball team- the team maybe scores twice a game but when they do all the kids in the team leap up in the air in celebration and start dancing.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I tried looking through Intra club match photo's and couldn't work out which player it was . I suppos it's not really all that important.

Probably best you don't think. You live in Victoria so you have no clue of what it is like living in Sydney trying to support AFL.

I have membership to both. That might not be the case in 10 years time but at the moment, everyone supporting AFL in Sydney would be wise to support GWS as well. It strengthens the code and could one day lead to a great rivalry. However, you can't go on about enemy rivalry when the team is a year off playing in the AFL.

Yeh we looked rusty but liked some of the glimpses of the new look forward line Johnston & Reid. Johnston had obviously been told to hit the packs hard Jesse-style and I thought he did a great job. Reid was playing further up the ground and finding the ball (tho not often having it delivered to him that well). Definitely worth persevering with over the pre-season.

OTOH, the back line without Reg & LRT was a scare (nws some great efforts by Ted) against two of the least scary forward lines in the comp. We'll really struggle if we lose one of the talls for a while unless Everett steps up earlier than expected.

Having watched the games now, I am with you. How better will it be when Jesse gets back and hopefully steps up this year.

Too much like Jesse in my opinion. I would rather him be leading out of the goalsquare/forward 50 rather than playing from behind and trying take marks by climbing over the defenders' backs.

I'm not going to get too worked up about this as it's pre-season but gee, I hope our Forwards start getting good, quick, early ball this year.

Yes. It would be nice to have the forward line functioning properly from Rnd 1. I think that's the key to us having a good year.

One must make a few concessions here. I was dripping with sweat, sitting in a fold up chair, up on top of the rim catching whatever movement of air was going past, making gooey noises to an 8 week old bloke in the pram connected to those ladies next to us, even he was sweating the dear little soul, and I was drinking bottle after bottle of water after sending one of my party off to get more (I was too hot and lazy to move).

The boys out on the ground were soggy with sweat. the ball would have had to have been soaked by half time first game. Slipups were going to happen, the blokes were going to get hammered by the speed of this game which is normally played in winter, you know 12-15C ish? Cold?

Its preseason now. And its still summer. Not even Autumn yet. I am not going to make any predictions until I need my red hoodie as protection against the cold.

Welcome Cadsky. Hope you're not drowning up there!!

Andrejs is the spitting image of Spida ... only about 50 years younger!!
He's got some talent, otherwise our selectors wouldn't have touched him. I think he did well.
He'd be a bit hard pressed getting a spot in the first 22, but then again, so will a lot of others.
I don't think we've ever been so spoilt for choice.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Don't give me that crap, I know how much the Swans have struggled to get solid support in NSW and if we were to suddenly be a bottom 4 side we'd be lucky to have 15,000 members imo.

My money goes to the Swans and Swans only, it's not my job or my concern to support the new franchise that will be trying to eat into our potential supporter base. If I have any extra spending money each year it'll go to a worthy charity, not a football club I have no interest in.

By the way, I don't live in Victoria.
