Is Jesse White being kept as a secret weapon?

How come there is never any mention of this guy. He has been listed with an ankle injury and status "test" for a while but no press reports of his impending return...

Are we going to wheel him out at Round 1 and surprise everyone with his keenly honed football prowess he has been working on in the off season?

I have hopes for Jesse, especially with Braddles in a fragile state.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I think the cone of silence is a better "secret weapon" than Jessie.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I still remember that 4 goal game against the blues at docklands, on the back of kicking 11 in the reserves. No Barry (love tap on staker?), him the focal point slotting them from everywhere.

I truly hope he can get there again. He does everything and more needed of him besides marking them clean and slotting em home

Barry's absence wasn't the result of the Staker punch - he was suspended for hitting Rutten, but I can't remember if it was before or after that game that he quit the club.

I have a major soft spot for Jesse. He has ability, enjoyment of everyone else's achievements, he just has to coral that together with self confidence and he will be the gun I predicted to him some 4 years ago. Some of these guys just take much much longer than others. He is working to get there though. Go Big Boy!!

Jesse in form is essential to our forward set up. Already we have seen that a blanket defender on TDL basically removes him as a focal point for forward thrusts. With Jesse as a focal point TDL can call on his crumbing game to score and contribute to the team. TDL's occasional "soft" actions might also dissappear standing near "Man Mountain".Splitting packs and hammering the backline opens up play for the crumbers. Yes,there is a big role for Jesse regardless of Bradshaw who plays an entirely diff0erent kind of game.A full forward line of Jesse, Bradshaw and TDL (or Lamb or McGlynne) gives any opposition a headache with match ups because anyone of them can kick a bag!

Jessie is still realtively young (just gone 23) and will gain more focus as he gets more experience, and hopefully go MIA less often. With the resting ruckman up front as well (and Goodes back in his midfield/utility role where he still belongs) it's going to be a forward line with height and skill that will stretch a lot of defensive set-ups. Jessie likes to tackle too, and should make a good contribution to the forward line pressure.

?It has been quite hard. I?d just got right back into it, head down and bum up after recovering from the shoulder, when I did the ankle,?? he said

Now I see why he usually had a problem with his marks. Pointing his bum skyward may well scare the defender as well as most spectators behind the goal posts but with your head down you won't even see the ball.

Good to see, and good on him, I hope he has a blinder wherever he plays. It has been said many times in this forum that he has the ingredients - size, pace, agility, eagerness, good hands, above-average accuracy as a kick - all he needs is to bring them together more often. Jesse firing on all cylinders would take two defenders and have a good chance of beating them.

I'm hoping for a big season from Jesse this year. He is in peak condition and fitness. I have seen him a few times training in the last month, the last being 9am of the morning of the fans day, running laps around Lakeside.

In fact it would be great if he and LJ could do some sort of combo as did Braddy and Big Jonathan B.

Even the AFL is selling packages for $177 per person ex Sydney this game. Received my email from them yesterday.

We need to see a four-quarter effort from him pretty regularly this year. He does great stuff for five minutes then goes missing.
