    Team for Round One

Sounds like White did well in the reserves game today and should get the full forward spot for Round One.
Were there any others who played today that would be worthy of selection?
    Is Moore going to play?
With the information we have so far, here is my team for Round One.
(I'll leave out Moore for now.)

    B - Sumner Richards Mattner
    HB - Everitt Grundy Rohan
    C - Jetta Bolton Hannas
    HF - O'Keefe Goodes McVeigh
    F - McGlynn White Seaby

    R - Mumford Kennedy Jack

    INT - Shaw, Bird, Smith

Sub - Bevan or Reid for height?

      I think there are too many unknowns at this stage to even guess the best team. Injury, the performance of newbys & improvements of other players. Would love to see about half way mark to give my best side. Having said that with what we have available & I am surmising these players will miss, LRT, Braddy, Kennelly, Mal & Bolton, I think this would do;

      B: Sumner Grundy Smith

      HB: Mattner Richards Everett

      C: Jetta Kennedy Hannaberry

      HF: O'Keefe Goodes Bevan

      F: TDL Seaby McGlinn

      Followers : Mummford, Jack, McVeigh

Bench : Rohan, J. Bolton, Bird

      Sub: White or Johnston

Nice piece here. Could the the team list on the board in the background be a clue to what we'll see on Sunday. Delete Bradshaw for White maybe....although it would be nice if Daniel was a surprise selection as the super sub....

I thought so too, but I think this was the original line-up that was meant to play St Kilda in Coffs.

Not sure about your best forward line....Looks very slow and cumbersome, in an era where forward pressure is so important. Needs at least one quick forward pocket..ie; TDL or Rohan.

Moore was waving a MRI scan or Xray envelope around on Friday at the SCG. and looking a bit iffy as he walked..maybe a fetlock..not too optimistic!

Hope he is not too badly injured. Though many here disagree I believe that he is a vital member in the team.

I while ago he repotedly had an ankle injury that was permanent and had to be "managed". The story goes he played with it against the Dogs in the SF.

I am assuming Bird's foot prevents his selection. Johnson is the sub because he can be a KPP both forward and back and deserves a place in the 22.Shaw and Rohan can go forward or back as well but not KPP.TDL is there because of his crumbing.I fear half forward line may be slow with Jude and O'Keefe and Both Rohan and Shaw are there to add pace if needed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bevan is the sub. He can play forward and back if there is a game ending injury. I agree on Hartjon's other 21. I have a feeling Rohan will start as Sumner and Smith together make our backline look a bit small.

I think Sumners selection will be based on whether or not Wonnaeamirri plays. Same height, Sumner slightly faster with Wonnaeamirri most likely having more stamina having been in the system that little bit longer.

Or we could put him at the other end, and have him line up on Davey on the half forward line though he would most likely get monstered. First gamer on a champion player like Davey probably wouldn't end well. On davey I think the key to competing with Melbourne lies with halting Davey's run, carry and kick, who do we have that could stop him? Smith? Jetta?

Maybe bennell or least likely bartram, this is going with the assumption he'd be playing more of a run-with role than running off his man too much.

If he is to be played as an attacking defender then it's either wonnaeamirri or no one I would think.
