    Hannebery's tackle

I've just been watching the AFL's videos on the rule interpretations for 2011 and the "General Play" video had me a little confused:

Coaching Video - Official Website of the Australian Football League

In the video it talks about protecting the player going for the ball and shows examples of play. One example showed Hannebery rolling another player in a tackle but not pushing the player in the back. I thought this type of tackle was good, however it was included with other examples of clearly bad tackles.

Is Hannebery's tackle good or bad?

I think the Hannebery tackle is showing what is OK. The commentary says
Scully was rolled, not pushed in the back by his opponent
The ball spilled free and play seemed to continue. In the next part, the commentary says
Welsh was pushed in the back
There was a whistle and a free was obviously awarded to Welsh.

That is just too, too funny.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Look from the very beginning of this thread I thought to myself They have Got to Change the Thread Heading! Please! Its just too disturbing but wasn't about to disgrace myself by pointing it out, or even noticing it! I am so glad my fellow idiots have done it for me.

Scott, Please change the heading to ...... nup, I can't work out how to do this, over to you.

PS: it would however make a very good nickname....Tackle.

... ignore them iigrover! ... I would have to say that the video is inconclusive ... love your work GS!

Thanks guys. In retrospect, I guess my heading and question could have been misinterpreted.

Its good to know that Hannebery's tackle will stand up for scrutiny, and is a good example for other team members.

I've been sniggering away every time I see the thread title. It works on so many levels!

Of course I always chuckle when commentators refer to players presenting too.

                            You dirty minded lot!!!!!
I read the title, read the thread, re-read the title and it still took some time for me to click to what the joke was!

I like to think that's because my mind is pure,
but it's more likely that I'm just getting to bloody old.......
