Just when I thought we had moved on from 2010 there we have Bevan in the backlines leaking goals with stuff up after stuff up and Moore in the forwards (apart from 1st quarter) missing key chances running into an open goal.Deja Vu!!!Heck as Betts and McGlynne showed the conditions were made for players like Moore! MIA !White promising.promising never delivering. Result a loss and for the first time Smith showed he is human and stuffed up more than once. How does Jetta keep getting a game? Teddy magnificent again. Please lets not lose at the selection table again. We need TDL,Parker and Johnston .Mike was ok considering .Shame we can't play the Mummy forward, back and ruck at the same time. That guy rocks and wants the ball.Mc Vanish ..well he is trying..very trying.

So, most of the good guys have been mentioned, but Teddy was a gun in a patchy backline.

White, Bevan, Everitt out. Give people like TDL, Sumner, Johnston, Rohan (when he's good again) a game.

Everitt as a sub was a joke, it was like he wasn't at the game at all, I only knew because the TV kept telling me he was the sub, not because I actually saw him do anything.

I didn't see the game as I am currently overseas, but those five being our top players is concerning about the state of our list. Have we successfully developed anyone other than jack in recent years ?

You are right though his disposal has been crap.

They shouldn't mess with the jumper. It always ends badly.

Our kicking is definetly part of it. I think Goodes can be quite guilty of missing easy, low pressure shots from 35-40 metres... it's always been a weakness in his game imo. To his credit though, he does tend to nail them when we really need it.

But aside from our kicking in general, I feel that it's a psychological thing with our club... I think we expect close games, and so we go into defensive mode when he get 2 goals ahead. Our winning mentality only switches on when we're desperate and the pressure is on... sometimes we have the class and luck to get over the line, and sometimes we don't. I didn't see us playing to win tonight...

That was just disappointing. A whole bunch of players went missing tonight. I was looking forward to writing about the return of Pyke...perhaps not the best night for his selection. That said, at least he did what was asked, unlike others.

One moment summed it up for me: ball went into the Blues 50, only Pyke and White forward. Pyke, with limited options, managed a nice tap for White to run on and White promptly did...nothing at all. Again.

Bevan's weak handball straight to the Blues for a goal was atrocious, but he was hardly alone in the no-skills department tonight.

TDL in, White out, Jetta out, don't much care about the rest. We're starting to look mediocre, at best.

Back from the game and the long drive home in the fog and rain. Why did I bother? Poor social life.

Swans were good in the first half then went to sleep in the second. Carlton then played better than first half.

I thought Jude had an outstanding game tonight. It may have not been evident on the telly. He played himself into the ground. In fact he came very close to getting a very bad knee injury when a stack of players fell on him just in front of the interchange bench.

Nick Smith had a shocker tonight. Probably upset after reading the article in the paper about how much money Goodes has.

MMM really caned poor Mike Pyke tonight bagging him about not having any tricks in the bag.

Jesse, Jesse, Jesse. Should spend more time practising instead of sitting in front of an ink monkey.

Nobody seems to have bagged ROK tonight. Did little as best as I could tell. Jack did play on Judd in the first half.

I thought we had no forward line. There was nothing apart from the times when Mummy rested at FF. No structure at all.

I'm not a coach critic but we seem to have been out coached again.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

In the 1st qtr on the wing Jetta did not even attempt to enter a contest and it was the softest display of footy I have seen for awhile. Enough of the crap about how he is skinny framed etc. Put your head over the ball young man! He has to go I'm sorry. Don't give me any wet weather excuses. There comes a time to man up.

The coaches and players crap on about winning the contested ball and then they don't back it up. Have a good hard look this week boys. Carlton were hungrier and it was there for all to see at your home ground.

All I can say is that Judd destroyed us tonight. Quality footballer.
