Don't think it is that straightforward. I never understood exactly why Fosdike's retirement didn't qualify as a LTI - maybe it was because he didn't actually have an injury then and there that prevented him from taking to the ground. But when Paul Williams was forced into retirement midway through a season with a shoulder injury, we elevated a rookie in his place - Phillips, I believe it was, who made his debut the very week Willo retired.
Bolton would still be clogging our list as a vetran rather than on the LTI cos he retired.
So only player we could elevate for would be possibly bradshaw, malceski etc if we thought were indefinite because we must have goodsey and someone else as vetransTheres not much left to sayComment

I believe our two vets are Goodes and the other Bolton
In Fosdike's case he retired at the start of the season. That might have something to do with his ineligibility for the LTIComment

yeah think your right so he was never technically on the LTI, should of just chucked him there, though only gives you 8 weeks doesnt it?Theres not much left to sayComment

I think 8 weeks is the minimum time needed on the list, not the maximum.Comment

Pretty sure that one is nominated as an "inside vet" and one an "outside vet", giving us the ability to have 39 on the senior list. That does mean we are allowed one designated rookie but I think you have to designate them at the start of the year, not when you feel like it.
But it is probably a moot point if we just want to promote one rookie as I am pretty sure Bolts qualifies as a LTI.
All clubs are allowed to promote another rookie, without the LTI requirement, but that doesn't kick in until about halfway through the season.Comment

Exactly! He would go right under the radar and be a major headache. Why would you sacrifice a top ruckman to make him a KPP??? Coz thats how you win matches! It enables us to get full value from having 3 good ruckmen. Tall on a dry day is good!Comment

Someone his size will never go under the radar....Comment

The otherpoint i was trying to make was to give Jesse a full game at ff and not put him on the ball- ff is probably the hardest position to learn (given his basketball background)he needs time at ff not trying to play backup ruckman.
Cheers
