His return makes it harder for TDL to get picked although we need a sharp shooter like him rather desperately I would argue. The question of who to drop then looms as a really hard choice. Nipper? is perhaps the only one you could 1/2 justify. Someone will be unlucky if TDL is selected as well.
White in defence? With AJ playing well and LJ coming on in defense,LRT back,Reg,Shaw,Smith and Marty playing well we are not exactly short in this area. IMO its a Vespa situation,we have invested a lot already,we have genuinely tried him ,it didn't work, give the kid another chance to make it somewhere else. It might be him it might be the club who knows?

Your kidding arent you. They would be mad to let go of a 23 yr old key position prospect. I accept he hasnt so far turned out to be as good as hoped but he is still very young for a big man and has a lot of up side.

You cant compare him to Vezpremi who obviously had some issues adapting to the requirements of an AFL footballer.

As much as it pains me to agree with Hartijon I think Jesse will be traded unless he can be slotted into the defence because as a forward he is utterly clueless. I hope he proves me wrong and becomes the player we all think he can be.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

If you agree with me Big Al I think I maybe need to rethink my opinion!

However I feel it is "Forward or nothing" for White. Just imagine he was now an experienced backman.Who would you drop from our backline to slot him in? My answer is nobody! I hope he proves me wrong too but I have been saying this for a very long time. With his recognised upside of being 23years old and having a lot of onfield "experience" give him a chance to resurrect his career and the Club a chance to draft someone else.

I can't see him playing in defence.

We have Ted, Grundy, LRT and Johnson as key defenders with LJ also being groomed to play there. No need to add White to the mix.

He needs to be played in the seniors as a forward, not as a forward cum ruckman.

Poor dear Jesse; if only he had as much faith in himself as everyone else does. He is a popular player amongst the team mates and most of us are urging him on and obviously have more faith in him than we had in say, Cheese. Its kind of a case of use yelling at him Do It, Just DO It, and him listening to us.....

The swans can't rely on these 4 tallish defenders to be fit and in form every week of the season, the more depth the better in all positions.
White thus far just hasn't developed into a consistent forward, and he is no good in the ruck.
As I said earlier, he has all the physical attributes to be a key defender, a position where his weaknesses as a forward would be irrelevant. ie contested marking, going missing
Given where he is at right now, there is nothing to loose in trying him out in defence in the 2's for an extended period. It may just work.

I predict one Ben McGlynn to absolutely wreak havoc this Sunday. He'll kick 5.

I'd like to keep Jesse, but I have to agree with this assessment. Keep him going as a backman for a while. Even if we do have to trade him (and I hope it doesn't come to that), he'll be worth more anyway.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

After 70 mins in a reserves romp, Mal comes straight back in to a high stakes game against a hardened, hard tackling opponent...I don't like it.
