    Sam Reid - Round 12 Rising Star Nomination

    Congrats to Sam Reid.

    From what I read, his kicking wasn't the best on the weekend, but he continues to present and be our No.1 marking target up forward - no
    easy feat for someone so young and with so little experience. A star of the future for sure.

      He was a huge target up forward and the Tigers struggled to contain him.
      Kicking straight, he could've blown the game away, rather than an exciting finish.

              The kicking problem will be sorted out, he comes across as a very contentious and dedicated player-I wouldn't be surprised if he is already addressing the issue.
              A well-deserved nomination.

                      What is the source of this information? I cannot find any official confirmation of this. Ben Reid, Sammy's brother got it in the same round last year - so any confusion here?

                                  As I said to a guy sitting behind me in the MA Noble stand at the game on Sunday, when Reid learns to kick truly he is going to be a superstar for us. He is a wonderful mark already, can get down and dirty when the ball hits the ground, works hard and looks like he really enjoys his footy. It is going to take some time for him to get his kicking right, but by gee when he starts to consistently kick the ball straight, he is going to be a very fine player for us - indeed he has the potential to fill one of the few remaining gaps in building our team towards a genuine charge for the Premiership.

                                  Well done Sam- and may AJ be next.
