For Swans and GWS coverage, make the focus on NSW footy, including some coverage of Swans and GWS reserves games.

Make the coverage livelier and pacier like League commentary. Get some Sydney/NSW sports or media people to commentate. Bring in local coaches from other sports - league, rugby, soccer, basketball - for special comments.

Ban from NSW AFL games Bruce and Dennis and anyone who's been commentating for more than a dozen years and replace them with some young callers who are not recently-retired AFL players.

Problem is AFL has a parochial culture which assumes that the whole world cares about who won the 1954 premiership andhow many goals Gary Ablett kicked. The chance of Channel Seven Melbourne tailoring their games coverage to NSW audiences is about as great as Izzie winning the Coleman.
They made an effort back in 1997 when the AFL realised the up take in people following the swans. They introduced a former umpire to explain the rules during Sydney games and the commentary that season was good as it's ever been.

Then a year or two later they canned the idea because the mesicans were complaining.

And a premiership won in 1925 played under a flawed set of rules amongst a few melbourne suburbs is irrelavant to me. I think it's time these premiership be acknowledged as being won in another comp.

    i.e

    Sydney/South Melbourne Swans

    5 VFA Premeirships (1881, 1885, and 1888-89-90)
    3 VFL Premierships (1909, 1918, 1933)
    1 AFL Premiership AFL (2005)

But i doubt that would ever happen as it will mean crediting Port the 36 SANFL Flags and that will make Essendon, Carlscum and wobble fans very bitter.

This last idea was brought up by Geelong a few weeks ago in the media.

And in a typical arrogant fathead way Eddie laughed and scoffed at the idea as it will mean his pies don't look good at all. The same reason why Eddie is refusing to allow Port's history to be included in the AFL.

Speaking of Eddie..the heart attack merchant has been awfully silent since his silly outburst a few weeks ago in which he was once again made to look like an idiot.

The idea isn't a good one because it's irrelevant. It was barely a competition.
