Here's an article from today's SMH about the match on Saturday:

Swans out to smash top-four hoodoo

Can't say I detect any "primal hunger".

If the best that Adam Goodes can come up with is that Collingwood had a bye last week... I hope he's not speaking for the coach and the rest of the team. Ridiculous reporting, why bother. Does nothing for anyone.

The same @@@@ trotted out for the past 6 years.

What would be, like, you know awesome Horse, is to, ummm i dunno come out and completely change things around. Maybe try and be proactive for a friggen change rather than be reactive and please don't leave it to the last qrt.

But as has been said the script will read as:

Harry O will be left as a loose player across half back and will create run after run.
Didak will be played back into form and kick 4 goals and be allowed to do as he pleases
Dale Thomas will play like he is the best player ever to don footy boots..will kick a bag
Pies will cruise for the rest of the game after kicking 5 goals in the first 10 mins until being pushed late in the third to kick 4 goals straight in junk time

Unlike other years the pies won't be coming off a few bad losses and we will be playing them back into form as per 2005-2009.

        Why do we even bother?

It wouldn't matter if we strapped on armour and had medieval swords by our sides we won't be beating the Pies. Get the loss over and done with so we can concentrate on beating an Adelaide team celebrating the sacking of Neil Craig (It's going to happen to us you know

In all seriousness, as long as we have a red hot crack and make the Pies know they've been in a game of footy then i'll be happy.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

We are gonna get flogged and I am going to have to put up with ALL the magpie supporters at work. Having said that, even though they are going to have their horrid, inhumane way with us, i will not stop watching and supporting. My TV will cop a barrage of abuse and my neighbours will here me yelling such things as "Why cant SOMEONE just hit a target for @#$% sake? Is that too much to ask?", etc. and I will be depressed and say after the game that we dont have a chance any more and this year is a rebuilding year, etc., but by Monday I will be back here again hypothesising with the best about who can come back into the team etc when we smash the Crows next week. I think that sums up my sad life as a Swans supporter...

No it won't be. ANZ has a smaller surface area than the SCG. It will be "a bloodbath on the narrow confined spaces of ANZ".

I would just like for us to keep up with the opposition instead of always being 5 paces behind. Take the marks that are easy for everyo other team to take, except us, KICK STRAIGHT AT GOAL - OURS PREFERABLY!!!! Dont try and be flash (and Kennelly must stop this friggin running around in circles crap!) - you can do it boys (I like to dream!).

The reality is though Daisy as usual will have a day out - Swan will gladly strutt around and show off his god awful tatts and kick a bag as will Cloke, Harry O will prance like a ballerina and not be touched, and Heath Shaw loves to step up a notch against his brother - I can see it all paying out in my head now. I think I need a Bex and a good lie down.

I will tip against the Swans, maybe that will bring us some luck. I know that we should keep the faith and think positive - christ I hope that I'm wrong and that we just win it. FFS SWANS - EXTRACT THE DIGIT AND PROVE US ALL WRONG - MAKE ANZ GO OFF!!!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I will go even although I know we won't win - never have I gone to a game before, so sure we have no chance and I will be tipping against them BUT how sweet would it be to win and what a buzz to be there if they did - aaaah dreaming was great but now back to reality

There will also be at least 10 contested marks where he doesn't have eyes for the ball but manages to get away with it turning the ball over for a quick kick down field into our D50 and a shot on goal.

I first remember him doing it in this corresponding match about 3 years ago. He has done it consistently since and never been pulled up on it that I can see, except on the odd occasion he goes in there so early that the umps are forced to call him away.

We need early sparks in the next game
That can come from a fit TDL dashing to mark, the missing ingredient, in last week game. Surely he is fit now after his "temp sickness. he can set the mood for the Swan.
That can also come from Jessie who has been in some form in the Reserves. he would be exceptionally keen to redeem himself. This is the right time for him to prove that he belongs the Swan top team and no one ever question him again. He is the FF we have missed.
Then the positve pyschological effects will flow througth, blocking out feelings of defeat even before/during the early part of the game.

And I hope the coach, wont do the Roos insurance tactic again, as he has done last week(?), talking up the opposition players. I would rather he instill greater confidence on our player privately and publicly, even if he thinks privately the odds are against the Swan. More confident players would play truer to their abilities than the lack of confidence in their heads and the fear of their opponents.

Stay positive and play to your true ability and play smart.

I would love to even kick the first goal against Collingwood at ANZ! In my mind, that has not happened for a while!
