If you blokes think that after a 3 hour drive to sit in the cold at what seems like the arse end of the world that I'm going to share the spoils of my hard work and sacrifice then you're mad.

She is a bit of a looker that young lady! But I applaud Big Al for making the trip down to that hole in Tuggers and he can enjoy the spoils of his hard work all by himself!

If TDL misses a call up again this week he would probably be the first footballer in the history of the universe who didn't get promoted after kicking 12.

But if any team was to do it, it would be the Swans...not forgetting his 9 the week before.

I've made this point before and hopefully the more savvy of the Ressies watches will back me up.

The numbers generated by the players in the NEAFL at present are irrelevant due to the level of competitiveness at this level of football.

TDL kicked 11 or 12 goals out of 33 against some very poor opposition. What the coaches need to assess is whether the way he goes about his football will translate to the much tougher AFL. In this day and age where forward pressure is now vital there is no point in having a guy who can kick 3-4 goals if he's letting the ball out of the fw50 with no pressure. This translates to goals down the other end. In the preseason and early matches his pressure was very poor. This is why I was conscious when sending back updates on Sat with "TDL watch" I concentrated on those little things and not the goal kicking tally. It's my opinion that it's his work rate without the ball that was most impressive on the weekend and as a result I think he should be recalled.

It's the same with Spangher. He would have generated some impressive numbers on the weekend but again irrelevant. It's the way he goes about his football that I'm most impressed with. Strong hands, high work rate and accurate penetrating kick. He should be given a go before White.

Thanks for your input Al, much appreciated.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

There was mention of TDL playing a bit more in the midfield, how did that go?

Spot on. He's a clever one-way player, he'll always kick goals but I think making him work hard for a spot will make him a more complete footballer.

Are you seriously saying he should be left out again this week?

No, I'd play him this week but I don't rate kicking bundles of goals in this comp all that highly. Looks great on paper but I'm sure the club know what they're doing with him. The way some people carry on about him, you'd think we were leaving out a superstar. His last few games at senior level have been average at best.

Thanks guys, I have just got back from Adelaide........sigh.

Looks like Spang and TDL will get call ups because I cannot see Jesse holding his place, and I have a few other opinions too which may come under the moderators eyes, so will refrain.

A question was asked about why they are so much better. My opinions are that

                              a) Better class of cattle
                              b) A relentless coach who doesn't let any of them slack off even when winning by a motza
                              c) Positions in the seniors are up for grabs, the competition is fearce
If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhood
