Despite all the shortcomings from our performance though, the most frustrating thing of all is that we would have won were it not for errant kicking. A lot of the behinds were rushed or snaps but the misses from Bevan, O'Keefe and Everitt were awful. Couple that with Bevan's mistake on Van Berlo at the other end and it wasn't a good quarter from him. The umpiring favoured them to an extent but it's not why we lost IMO.
And White's no contest in front of goal.

When someone has the intestinal fortitude to watch a reply please post how many centre clearances we had. We were again thrashed in this area and in many cases our blokes were more than 5 metres from the contest. How the centre clearance coach keeps his job is way beyond my comprehension. This is by far the worst aspect of our game and costs us big time every week.

I think Jetta,Everitt, Kennelly, all have to go, Jetta can't tackle, he gets sent back to the reserves for 1 week only, then straight back in, I think he definitely has a gold ticket, he does a couple of runs and that all we get, surely he has to do a lot more to hold his spot,

Kennelly is finished, too old too slow, I don't think Everitt is going to make it, why cant we bring Lewis Johnson in, leave forward, just let him stay there like we do for Reid, what have we got to lose, noone can kick any goals

A few players need to take a look at how hard Jude tries, he gives everything and more

I am sick of our team not kicking GOALS, what can we lose by trying something different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a dreadful performance by the players and coaches. However I?m thinking (or perhaps more so hoping) this is a blessing in disguise. Like the Melbourne loss last year, hopefully tonight is a wake-up call that will do us more good than just getting by and thinking everything is OK.
We should have lost to Essendon and WC (and to an extent also North and Richmond), but winning those games has glossed over woeful selection and up-and-down efforts by certain players.

It is almost arrogance that we keep picking a completely unbalanced lineup and expect it won?t hurt us. Fair enough it won?t really matter against the top 4 teams as we?re not good enough to challenge them anyway, but it?s as though we think we can employ whatever selection policy we please against all other teams and it won?t catch up with us.

We still have no forward structure ? TDL and Moore would have been handy tonight. And I still say Richards, LRT and AJ can?t play in the same side ? they?re all poor kicks and moving the ball from defence has been a major issue for us all year. I don?t think it?s a coincidence Ted and AJ were out last week and we looked a lot better out of defence.

Above all else ? priority # 1: employ a $#*&%@! Meteorologist and keep their advice in mind when picking the side. We?re just not good enough (collectively or individually) to pick the same side regardless of the conditions and expect it will work.

At least Jane would get a kick in a stampede.
What about Jetta. He kicks the early goal and yes got off a handpass in the last that resulted in a goal. But for the rest of the game was a no contest. Passenger of the first order. Right off him.
ROK might have the stats but that's about all. Missed that set shot then a few minutes later drops a sitter on the wing for a turnover and goal.
Dead set looked like Mattner was playing for the Crows. Every time we play in the wet he does those dumb handpasses to no one when he should be kicking when he is clear and about to run inside 50.
I reckon Adelaide players called for the ball from our blokes on a number of occasions.
How bad were our one out contests going forward.eg Bevan, Jetta and McGlynn.
So Kennelly has turned 30. That figures why he has talked himself up for another year. He was woeful and clubs now just sit on him and he makes error after error. Not that you can question his endevour.
Bird was terrific until injured, Bolton bloody fantastic, Hanners was good but please handball off instead of trying to kick a goal (lets himself down in this area continuously) Seaby again good. The backline was again good and I look forward to the day when Johnson decides to move the ball on quickly.
About as disappointing as it gets.
                Agree 100%.

On White, he got to go. Like you said, total pretender. Never uses his body well, never makes a good decision. Time to be dropped and see if GWS or his hometown GC are idiots later in the year and give us something for him.

White looks like he doesn't know how to play the game. Tonight the only time he got his hands on the ball was when it fell into his lap. If Spanger is playing so well in the 2's he must replace White. Reid plays like a CHF so putting Spanger up front as a power forward makes sense. He is a massive unit.

Was at the game tonight and cant start to explain my dissapointment. firstly i saw 22 blokes who to me thought that going though the motions tonight would be enough. Geelong played this sied last week without 8 regualrs, won by 60(??)ish points. We go in without maybe 2 of our bet and get done by 7 points. My question is 1- Where are we at, honestly, Are we that bad and lucky ot be where we are on the ladder due to a few close wins in the first half of the year. or 2 - did we just have a bad night???

Unfortnuatly i think we are in the 1 category.

                      Pathetic!!!! Gam Plan ! What Game Plan! If you call kicking the ball high in hope a game plan or handballing in slippery conditions a game plan then I think it stinks. What about man on man footy that we did so well in the last half last week. What about our goal kicking, jesus do they do any goal kicking practice at training? Some of the players that let us down;

                      LRT =Ordinary tonight
Goodes was trying to be too tricky it was not the right night to do that stuff; Ineffectual
Everritt came on late but was inefectual & had the chance to put us ahead & decided to kick off the ground. Two shots at goal both points & both gettable. The one running into goal & decided to kick off ground OH JASUS WHAT AC STUFF UP!!! He had Jesse running with him & only one opponent & if he took the ball could heve either drawn the opponent or drilled the goal
Benny was crap tonight got beaten by 3 opponents
Shaw had to go down back & frankly I was breathing much easier when he went forward, the move made far too late as Johncock was carving us up. Bevo tried to hold him but not good enough.

                      We missed Smith

I thought Parker was very good in & under but there were too many of our mob doing the same job & no-one outriding except when Birdie, Lewie or Hannas trying to break the sides.

Kennelly was very ordinary tonight & it pains me to say that but I think he is really slow now!

to be honest with you I have been saying this all year, we have won most of our games by very small margins & if they had of been losses instead of wins we would have been near the bottom of the ladder. We have been fortunate but we are developing a very good side just not the one we played today. TDL kicked 11 goals in the 2's & if he doesn't get a run next week I think sack the coach & the selection committee & @@@@@@ them all. Get rid of Jesse as he is another Fitzie!!! Looks great never delivers!! Time to look to the furure & bring Byron Sumner into the side doing great things in the 2's & I loved the way LJ was able to kick in against the Pies & hit a player 70 metres away on the chest. time to put LRT out to pasture for a while. Spanger has to come in & play the 2nd ruck role & CHF. while we are at it lets bring in Nipper to give the forwardline a real bit of zip. Piss off Benny for a couple of weks as he has been pretty ordinary for a while. He needs to freshen up!

Parker was good and thought Shaw was one of our better.

I have been saying this all year & been ignored. Finally someone agrees with me! If you put Spanger, TDL & maybe Benny & Reiddy, Maca maybe or Nipper we could have a forwardline. Byron into the middle to give some real clearances & think about Currie (Crusher) because I think he is the future of the ruck as much as I like Mummy & Seabs! We do not want to lose this bloke as he is rough as guts & that is what wins premierships!!!

Was at the game. Wasn't the best effort however please keep in mind the conditions were absolutely @@@@ house. Had been raining hard all day, would be silly do make judgements on any players based ONLY on tonights games.

Would have been nice sitting out in the rain watching them kick goals rather than behinds though.

Tippett was really good for them if he was not getting the ball he was hitting it forward or blocking for other players & LRT gave away a couple of very soft free kicks, comes from playing on the forward line & being asked to go back all of a sudden. I think he needs a few resie games to get his ballance back. LRT was soundly beaten today & he gave away 3 frees 2 of which got goals.
