Thats because of a directive sent out in the past 6 weeks, which i have had the privy to read, informing all MEDIA outlets that the constant negativity towards umpires and that dept is not on.

Hence why we have seen a lot of media people not even mention umpiring in the past few months, most just sit on the fence and dont make a comment.

What we need is free press for the AFL..but @@@@ it it's only a sport at the end of the day.

Here's Parkers tackle and the dirty bastard Lowers retaliation.

Had to lol as right before the high tackle free kick to freo White was tackled high by Fyfe. Just one of those days.

Ryan and especially Dan's post match interviews clearly refer to the disappointment in the teams performance. Dan in particular looked absolutely GUTTED. What's concerning for me is that they CONSTANTLY talk about 4 qtr performances but rarely back it up. Are we just not fit enough to run out 4 quarters of footy? 3rd quarter is known as the premiership quarter for good reason and it's often our worst quarter against key opposition. So is it more mental than physical? All I know is is if these boys keep talking themselves up for a big match but fail to follow through on that then i have great concerns about the playing group, especially the leaders. Macca has come out again today to vow they will respond so i'm looking forward to see what the group pulls out on Saturday.

They should have blown Freo off the park yesterday. I'm sure poor umpiring decisions can break your back and stop momentum but had we had similar intensity in the first 3 quarters as the last we wouldn't have had to make up close to 40 points. Incredibly crucial game yesterday which needed intensity matching the last qtr right from the time the siren went. Didn't see it.

"We probably weren't up to it. You can say what a comeback, but where were we when it really counted in the second and third quarters," he said.

"With our season on the line, where were we?

But why exactly is that a good thing ? There were about ten swans players in there and about four freo players. it was in our defensive half. They kept their composure and their focus on the ball. The next five minutes we went from nine points down to game over. Fyfe did exactly the right thing and he summed it up well he looked at it saw no benefit from getting involved and followed the ball.

i mean its one thing if you are going to effect the melee.

if you're not stay the hell away and win the footy. the next contest had a sea of purple and stuff all swans there.

I think the person I feel for the most is the person who paid $725 for the 'inner sanctum' experience on the Swans Auction site. The dressing room would have been like a wake. If I were the Swans I'd be inviting that person back free of charge for another go : )

There had to be a response though, if no one had come into help Parker it would have set a poor example to the rest of the young guys. The number of swans to freo players was a concern though.

Probably a sign of their frustration? Maybe Ben and McPhee have a bit of a history? Ben seems to come in directly for him.

Seeing Rhyce in the video reminded me that he was on a really short fuse yesterday. You'd imagine there was plenty of Heath-related sledging.

                          Dare I say it...this didn't happen under Roos's coaching.

Several thousand dollars heading into the coffers of the AFL as a result of these charges.

Bit unfair to blame a loss of focus on the coach, that's where the onfield leaders need to take control. I think more to the point is under Kirk we would not have been sucked in, losing focus for the next 10 minutes when all the damage was done.....

On the actual melee, I reckon Benny saw McPhee head to AJ and give him a sneaky one and decided to get involved. McPhee is a lucky man, Mummy looked like he was ready to snap him in half on the fence.

Also the play whilst the melee was on encapsulated why Jesse should never see seniors again. His effort to get himself pushed off the ball by Fyfe was just pitiful.

What a shame Mummy didn't - Mcphee is up there as one of my most disliked footballers in the league- and not just for the controversy that night when he was at the Bombers.
