Know what you mean but we used that to advantage and turned it around, Adelaide are in more of a hole than Dees were and we did not learn our lessons vs Freo.

I obviously jinxed them with the banner they had to run through that night.

PS:- Kicking 5-14 sure didn't help either.

That loss epitomises why we are NOT a top 4 side.

I was at the crows-saints game last night and found myself wondering the exact same thing as this thread title! Had we beaten them we would be knocking on the door of top 4 after today's win.

was at the crows game cpl weeks ago. Worst conditions ive ever been to a footy match in. We scored 13 behinds in a row, they got a couple of soft free kicks in the goal square. thats why we lost.

Yes - there are always losses in a season that you look back on and curse as being one that got away!

At least for us they are relatively few. Even though we do look shaky on occasion our team is generally very good at beating who they should beat and at least putting up a reasonable fight most times against the better sides. We can't really ask for more than that.

The Adelaide loss is very much against type, and was 100% the players fault. The Freo loss was also against type, but I think it is fair to say that the swans don't carry all the responsibility for that loss. It was an aberration due to the level of influence the umpires had. As much as I like to lay into them (deserved, mostly, but of course bias can often creep in!!), there are very very few games where the umpires can be said to have changed the result. Last week there were so many instances of 'inconsistency' in frees paid and not paid that the game stood out like dog's balls as being very different to 99% of other games.

There are clubs (essendon, freo for example) who routinely lose the games they are supposed to win - it wouldn't be much fun supporting them me thinks!

It matters not, we're just as likely to beat St Kilda as anything, form lines mean little these days. How have the Suns won three games this year?? It's a fairly even field and if the whole team turns up, you're likely to win

I was at "that" game with Adelaide supporters who were expecting us to blow them away. Afterwards one of them said he was really disappointed with the result. .. He was expecting to lose, and then they didn't and he wasn't sure how to take it. With supporters like that....

It was orrible. But nearly all clubs have 'orrible games. And brilliant ones. I am waiting for the brilliant one. Its been eight years....you know the one I mean.

I was at the game too. Had to walk back along Hindley St to get back to the Hotel I was staying at and dressed in full red and white. Horrible experience. Most of the Adelaide people I spoke to had tipped Swans to win in their tipping comps. One that really got away from us. Quite a few "home town" decisions doesn't help.... wish sometimes we could get our share of the 50/50s.

It was the smallest crowd Adelaide has ever had - the conditions didn't help irrespective of their form.

Might get worse before it gets better with their crowds. - particularly gven they need something like 25,000 to break even at AAMI.

Thought at the time that both teams lost that night - us 4 points and chance at top 4, them because we gave Neil Craig a stay of execution! Definitely a win that papered over their cracks, which are now crevasses!

And now Craigy isn't sure it he has the commitment and desire to coach them beyond 2011. Handy coincidence - I doubt anyone else associated with the crows has the commitment and desire for him to coach beyond 2011 either! Certainly few of his players are keen to play for him based on Friday night's loss in a canter ...
