I like the look of Walker as a natural forward, but why have GWS dropped off him?

There is no point in keeping LJ if we are not going to use him. This season we have been desperate for someone who can kick a goal from a long way out and we keep one of the best executors of the long kick (LJ) in the 2's.
I thought LJ did alright on debut, not great but not bad. Clearly the selectors thought otherwise so why not trade him? The selectors were right about Vesper maybe they are right about LJ?
Taylor Walker is an exciting forward who can find both the ball and the goals instinctively. With TDL and Sammy he would greatly add to the potency of our forward line. With Sammy destined to be our Riewoldt,we also desperately need a stay at home FF. LRT is ok in that position, not great but at least he traps the ball there ,something that White cannot seem to do
So LJ, Uncle and Currie for Taylor Walker plus a second round pickComment

I'd also 'be prepared' to trust the scouts if they feel he'll be a good fit for Sydney, but I just don't see him as the great saviour others do. More than happy to be proven wrong if he lands at the SCG however.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

The rumour about Walker has been getting stronger by the day in Melbourne, and we are the only club I have heard mentioned. He was asked about his future when interviewed after the game and he dodged the question. I was a critic of his before Saturday because he looked lazy and was only a lead up forward who gave up when the ball hit the ground. He was pretty good on the weekend and worked a lot harder than I have seen him before. He has also had a run of injuries. We have plenty to spare in the cap.
I say trade for him.Comment

It's no surprise with just a handful of games left before he shops around for another club that he'd actually bother to get his finger out and work. I've just seen him go missing ala Jesse too many times to be wanting to give up a hell of a lot for him...Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

You clearly don't appreciate Walker's ability or our dire need for a forward. Sure Walker has had some questions over his so-called 'attitude problem', but Neil Craig has probably been guilty of stunting him in many ways.
Take him to a happy club where he will become a central component of the forward line and watch him flourish. He's a good talent, this weekend's game is a good indication. He'll have to develop some consistency and and a better attitude on-field, but he is young enough to still learn.
If we want him, we'll have to put up a very good offer both to Tex and the Crows to lure him away. Though tbh, with Craig gone he might just stay put.Comment

Couldn't agree more. You'd get nothing for LJ. If the Swans want Walker start thinking of a trade with the likes of Ried, AJ, Hannaberry and you're in the ballpark anything else and you're dreaming.Comment

Who says we aren't going to use LJ? Ted isn't going to play for ever, nor is Tadhg, nor is Goodes, nor is Marty, nor is Shaw, nor is ROK. There is definitely room for LJ to play HB or HF.
They can have Jesse. His girlfriend is an Adelaide girl I believe.Comment

Agree here. I'd go Sumner and a pick or LJ and a pick but anything more would be overs.......Comment

I can't help but think Grundy would be a part of the deal. We have a lot of key defenders, Adelaide just lost Phil Davis, and Grundy is worth more than Walker so we could use the deal to also upgrade our second rounder to a first rounder, which we could potentially use for other targets (remembering that our other first rounder would be tied up with Mitchell).Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment
