Hurley had both feet working well last night. Hands too

I don't consider the size of the injury list as an indicator of team potential, rather who's on it.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Agree entirely. I can't see why other clubs can list "Player X - season" when we don't do the same for Craig Bolton and Bradshaw. I know they've retired but they are still on our list and contribute to our disadvantage through injury as much as any other player with season ending problems. Other club supporters have said to me "The Swans have few injuries". I ask them whether their team has two All-Australians out for the season.

Tom moves alot like Gary Jnr around teh contest.........they have that distinctive 360 movement and low centre of gravity...........they angle in for the ball and sell great dummys when handballing........not saying he will be anywhere near Gary Jnr who is one of the best midfielders I have seen in decades but i like the way Tom moves and is constantly ready for the next pass etc.......he appears a magnet

Chinatown. It was heard that he was very impressed by the Lakeside Oval !! boom boom

It's not kosher to move on after a loss on Sunday anyway.

Sheedy was being grilled on Ch 7 this morning about the GWS team make up and he said he always starts with the spine.

Where is our spine at? If the Lake rumour was correct then to have a player like that playing in his AA form would be outstanding. There has to be more to his story at the dogs than injury. We could get him at a very low trade price.

Good bits included how composed the kids were/are. Even Sam managed a goal from the side line when two weeks ago it was a foregone conclusion he would miss. He must have spent the bye with a few balls and the goal posts.

The centre was out of balance with Macca missing (not his fault) and it showed.

As for Hanners, I can see him providing me with high blood pressure for some time to come. He jumped a level to Jude like performance last night. He is a good player.

The leg strength by the end of the last quarter of some of the kids showed they still have a way to go, but hells bells, they are only 18 and 19. The game was so damned fast it was almost like they were up to the end of a fifth quarter.

I was please to observe that there was little "blowing" at the end of the game. Their lungs and heart muscles seems to be in good order. (mine wasn't thank you for asking.....)

Its time for Tadgh to take stock and made a few decisions.

The best on ground were made up of olders, mid range and younguns. Not too shabby really.

But @@@@ a brick I wanted to win that one.

Last of all, thanks for the Tom Mitchell upload. He is a blond version of his father isn't he. What a unit he and Luke would make......

People can react badly when in an environment that they've had enough of. Up to last year Lake was one of the best in the competition and if he wants a change and get his career back on track then I'd welcome him with open arms.

For some time we've all been thinking that Sam had that little something extra, I think you may have just nailed what that little something extra is!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yes I know he was terrific Al, that is why is was so strange he went off the boil, I know he had injuries but apperently there was inner fighting within the player group etc nothing that has been substantiated mind you. Maybe Sydney might be the place for him I don't know, maybe I was a bit harsh. Anyway we will see.

I will fuel the rumour fire by saying that I have heard some veiled comments in the media about business dealings between Lake and some teammates. Apparently they went sour and Lake has been less than popular with the others because of his attitude afterwards. Having said that, I thought we were looking for a FF, not a FB?

In addition, I only saw the one game from Mitchell (coincidentally, it was the same one that the highlights were taken from) and must confess that I saw a good in and under player much in the mould of Cresswell, but didnt see a game-breaker. He accumulated possessions really well, but they were nearly all handballs as part of a link or extracting from a pack - this is all great stuff, but is seems to be a distributor, not a game breaker (yes, I know that Diesel was a distributor as well (see what I did there?)). I just have to trust those who have seen a lot more of Mitchell but I am personally not as excited as maybe I could be.

Not often we get access to a top 10 (top 5 even) midfielder with the skill this bloke has got. While he's not in the Judd mould he's very much a Simon Black type who will go about his business without a lot of fuss and accumulate 40 possessions without you realising. I'm super excited.
