    Round 22 - St.Kilda

Still hurting from the game against Richmond...

But life goes on. The performance against Richmond notwithstanding, our match against the Saints on Sunday should be an absolute cracker.

St. Kilda are not the side that made the past two grand finals, and I think we can chalk up our first win against them since 2008. Narrowly.

I think the side will be embarrassed by the showing last week and you'll see a fully committed Swans outfit on Sunday.

Before this year I'd have said: the Saints game is usually a cracker, we often run them close, we have a similar game style in many ways. But after last week and given that I don't know what our game style is any more - I just don't know.

Agree, could be a narrow win if we're up and they're down. I think it's all about psychology this week; have the boys really moved on from last week or just given up on this year?

The Saints are in rare form. We're in rare 'getting beat by Richmond' form. We will rally this week but go down by a couple of goals.

As I said elsewhere, I don't believe the Saints are going anywhere near as good as the pundits would have us believe.

I'm supremely confident we will win.

Disclaimer: I have been wrong before though.

I have no faith in us winning this one. Lots of hot air going on, but if the boys were serious they would have put in a proper effort two weeks ago as well as last week. they were winable games. This is a harder team, and therefore I have very very little faith. Actually I have none. I am deflated and ever so depressed. My friends haven't rung me all week. One did, brave girl, just to see if I was still alive.

We played a cracking match just 2 weeks ago in one of the games of the year so last weeks poor effort was just a blip on the radar as far as I'm concerned.

I'm with BBB on this one. I think the Saints are over rated and the with the embarassment from last week fresh in their minds I think we'll see the real Swans take the field on Sunday.

I won't put the same disclaimer as BBB did because I'm rarely wrong.

Prims, we are both on the same page. I'm still not over last sunday and usually I'm fully recovered by tuesday.

Gee Al I wish I had yours and BBBs faith, but last week broke my heart and if we couldn't beat the Bombers the week before, I just don't see how we'll do it over the Saints. As much as I also think they're not the team they were last year, they took it right up to the Pies last week in a way that we just weren't able to.

Nah I cant get past last sunday either, it was a disgrace....I havent felt so angry with the team in a long time whilst walking out of the ground, I can cop a loss but that was just an abysmal effort with so much at stake....I just cant see us turning it around against a saints team that is in good form (happy to be proved wrong). Saints by 21.

If we play as well as we did against the Bulldogs and Essendon, I'm confident we'll get the choccies. Play like we did against Richmond and we'll get pumped.

The match against the Bombers was one of the best games of the year. This game could easily be the worst (to watch) with both sides creating stoppages and going man on man to prevent anyone ever breaking away and kicking the ball.

I'm with Primmy. Usually after some morose grumbling I eventually bounce back, but I think I'm all out of optimism at this point. Just don't feel like the boys have oomph these days. We may manage our usual panic-and-claw-back-to-a-respectable-loss point margin, but I don't see a win.

... which, given my usual inability to read the tea leaves, means we'll probably have a surprisingly good game and victory.
