i like the extra tall timber options and it frees up Goodes to play alot of wing !

it is easier for our guys heading towards the 50m arc ie to find a good target !

He is a thumping kick as well. It's all or nothing with the Spang. He'll be 10m out and still put it into the top levels in the stands.

''I suppose that's the defender in me. You launch yourself at the ball to stop your opponent getting it when you are a defender, and I guess I've taken that mentality forward,'' he said. ''I would say I'm not the most overly gifted footballer, and all I've got is to throw everything at it, and that's pretty much how I've always played my footy.

Love him even more. Humble and tongue in cheek.

Best of luck, we love our battlers come good. I only hope he doesn't drop off a bit, and the knives come out too quickly.

I was a bit "meh, whatever" when we drafted Spangher and his first game did nothing to change that. But his recent games have been really good and I like him a lot, having seen more of him.

I think this thread has had a major influence too; whenever I see him I think of the strut and hear the music

Crowd-pleasers are always a good thing. Let's hope he goes well through finals and next year.

I mentioned to him after the game about how much I love the way he struts around the ground.
He laughed and said that it was a bad habit and he's trying not to strut.
I told him don't be silly ... don't change a thing ... we LURV the strut, then starting singing "staying alive".
He thought it was hilarious. He nearly dropped his pizza he laughed so much.

                I love him.

The Spang handballing to himself and only half pulling it off in front of the Ladies yesterday converted my into a fan.

Add me to the late-to-the-Spangparty contingent, but as others have said he's been getting better every game, and gets the crowd going - what's not to like? I'm aboard the bandwagon.

Along with the Rise Of Rohan, it's good to have players with the "It" factor to make games lively and keep our spirits up if things get rough. And great to read he's apparently a nice enough fellow too.

The Spang proves to me that the people on here are not hypercritical or hypocritical. Spang was a left over
pick who many had seen play like a Woolly Mammoth for the Wet Toasters. At the time I gave him no chance of making the ones and put him a long way behind White ,Currie,Reid etc. I can't remember if anyone thought he was a contender or anything more than a back up player.

Based purely on his efforts he has won a cult following and admiration of both sexes on here. It proves that if someone has a genuine go we notice him and praise him.The reverse is also true.
