Weird. I read it just this morning myself, and posted the link almost as soon as I read it.

As far as the medical issues go, after suffering recurring hamstring issues (including after his Swans debut up on the Gold Coast) he was diagnosed with a disc issue related to posture, which they are managing via special strapping around his lower back.

Funny how back and leg problems are so closely linked. We never should have become bipeds.

I'm glad they have sorted it - and I'm glad he's playing for us. I hope he always has the strut, strapping or not. But I think much of the change in the team in the past month has been the raw enthusiasm and desire to take the game on that he and Rooster inject. I feel that Jesse is catching the same feeling (there have been signs) and I think that just one breakout game when he kicks four or five will trigger his whole renaissance in our forward line.

Meanwhile, let's hope we are screaming SPANGHER!! a lot on Friday night.

The article was in The Age hard copy but not online, not even in text edition. No idea why, unless they decided they were spending all their bickies too soon and pulled it to hold it over until tomorrow.
Good article, and interesting to get an idea of the trouble they went to in order to diagnose and fix the problems. Worth every cent.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

"It then took several different medical opinions to pinpoint his problems to a disc in his back and a pelvic structure that needed realigning."

              Well you can tell
by the way I use my walk
              I'm a woman's man
              no time to talk
              Music loud and women warm
              I've been kicked around
              since I was born

And now it's all right, it's ok
and you may look the other way
              We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man

              (chorus)
              Whether you're a brother
              or whether you're a mother
              you're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
              Feel the city breakin
              and everybody shakin'
and were stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive

Well now I get low and I get high
And if I can't get either, I really try
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes
              I'm a dancin man and I just can't lose.

                I love you Spangus.

I was happy when they recruited you and now I'm estatic that you're getting games.

Pelvic structure eh. Something a decent chiro would have diagnosed at a first visit. The physios rule the roost at footy clubs.

Saw him at Flemington racecourse on Derby Day and had a quick chat. Asked if he had seen the staying alive strut clip and he said a few of the boys had put it on his facebook. Thought it was a good laugh. Really good guy in person.
He was there with McGlynn and what seem to be the Pt Adelaide squad
