There were tears in my eyes when the game finished on Saturday. I was so proud of the team - and so proud of the Blood's spirit that carried them through. I teared up again when I saw the image of Goodes walking off the ground in tears - and again with the pic of Horse hugging Goodes in the rooms.

Still smiling today about a win that sets us up so well for the future. Then I teared up again when I saw the image of Mark McVeigh blowing a kiss to the sky after their win yesterday.

It started me thinking of games that live on in your heart forever. Obviously the last minutes of the 2005 GF. And the Cats vs Nicky D semi. But strangely, for me, not so much the Saints final that year. I was in Brisbane for some of those wins and they were big - especially Willo streaming down the ground like Rohan for a goal when the Lions still hoped to reverse the result (and Baz's goal after the siren). But the win over the Power in 2003 was huge - I had the same feeling as last Saturday: we have no hope but maybe a special effort will do it! And the same feeling after the first minute: we're here to play but will we be good enough? And a heart full of pride at the final siren.

More recently? Magic's goal in the fat fool's face at Subi? What others?

I still love Saturday a lot and will remember it forever as a special moment that the Bloods spirit trand made something special happen, but I've settled down in my comparisons I must admit - Saturday I had it a bit too high!!!!

The game I've been comparing it to is the drought breaking win over Melbourne in 1993 for the pure emotional joy and promise attached to it.

Funnily enough I had the same feelings. especially after the St. Kilda game. Dont get me wrong, I loved the winning feeling,
but the goose bumps after the Geelong game were upstanding for at least half hour after the final siren, and still today whenever I watch the game to.

Also on a side note, it made me feel humble seeing the Geelong team wearing black armbands on Saturday also. I'm sure it was greatly appreciated by all.

Beating the Saints twice in 2005 firstly to break their unbeaten run and then the Prelim
Also beating West Coast in Sydney 2005 as well i believe. I back them under 39.5 points and had to support West Coast in the last few minutes to get the margin back under there.

I was a mess on saturday too. Even at 3 quarter time, I had a few tears starting to well up just because I was so PROUD of the way they were playing. I haven't been around as long as some of you to remember too far back, but every game that I've seen played with real passion -win or lose- gets me emotional.
Some people do drugs, other gamble, but for me it's the swans.

Thanks for the photos "go swannies". Throat lump had just gone away after Saturday but it's now back and even bigger. Saturday's win will stay with me a long time but watching them all pile onto plugger after the siren in the 96 prelim will stay with me forever. I must say both the Mcveighs, Goodes, Jack and Horse have all impressed me mightily with their actions and appropriate public comments throughout what must have been some very tough weeks. Having a "heart full of pride at the final siren" is what the Bloods continue to provide us lucky fans, isn't it.

Same consequences as drugs- bad trips, depression, ecstasy, addiction and quickened ageing (stress-related. A grey hair per Swans game is pretty standard in my household)

Just talking to a family friend who was at the Sheridan hotel (where the swans stayed in geelong) when the boys arrived on friday, and as soon as they got there Goodsey pulled them all into a huddle and spoke to them about McVeigh and then about the bloods spirit and how they are all a brotherhood and a family who do anything and everything for each other, and our friend said he listened and knew that the way they were talking, there was no way they would lose, so he put a bet on the swans to win on his way home that night.
Thought I'd share because to me, it says everything about the club.
