No Live footy on Friday night in Sydney (EDIT: NOW LIVE)

You would have thought that Channel 7 could have shown Friday night's game live into Sydney considering Swans are playing. Last week's was live but this week on 1 hour delay. Pathetic!!!

      Hi Annew,

We believe the game will now be broadcast live on Channel 7. The AFL website updated their website earlier today:

      Cheers,

Pathetic indeed. They have to move from that "this is League territory" mentality.

I think this happened with last weeks games too; initially not shown as live, but updated later. Probably best to keep checking so as to avoid irritation

Frankly at finals time, every game should be live and free to air across the nation. It is the Australian Football League, after all.

Hi Jenny (and others who responded)
Thanks for the up-date am very pleased as I can't trust myself to not listen to the game on the radio if not shown live and then it spoils the broadcast. Very happy.

the Hawks Geelong game was live on 7Mate on Friday night - but they can put Better HOmes & Gardens on 7mate and move the more important thing, Ie the Swans V Hawks onto Channel 7 - who's got the granny this year 7 or 10? When the Swans get there (like that positive thinking!) I bloody hope that the TV channels up here give it the coverage and love it deserves. end of rant!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Does anyone know how our final against the Saints rated in Sydney?

Total audience was 1.177 million (says AFL).

Of which Sydney was 922,000 (says TV Tonight). Obviously, numbers from this source do not add up to AFL source.

No idea how that compares with anything else! But 1 in 5 Sydneysiders sounds OK to me.

What's the excuse for the dealyed coverage into Victoria then?
