I hope we recruit a player they say can play short and tall. Then we can kick start the Short/Tall theory discussion. Fascinating discussion in the off season that one.
I hope it's a short person because short people can't play tall because they are not tall.Comment

Unless they have a good vertical leap, which enables the discussion to continue for a further 75 posts.Comment

Perhaps he can be equipped with a whistle? He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Tall person with good bend would make more sense than short person with tall leap.
You can't leap tall if you have a pebble in your boot.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

Having looked at the footage, it's hard to gauge much.
Clearly his kicking, and decision making, looked excellent....but.....
In nearly every passage of play, he was able to just lope along, on the wing, no pressure, and pick a target.
He won't get such luxuries in the AFL.
But he certainly looks classy, and given the Swans poor skills by foot, he's definitely worth a spot on the roster.
Probably Sumners spot.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

But good players reduce pressure on themselves by finding space, and he can do that. Obviously it will be tougher at AFL level, but he's shown he can have an impact, even against a team like Geelong. He won't be a superstar, but if he was in your team's bottom 6 but best 22, you're very well positioned. I see him as the sort of player that will be lifted by having good players around him, and will put the finishing touches on a quality team.Having looked at the footage, it's hard to gauge much.

I think we've nothing to lose in this trade.
Hopefully Armstrong pulls his weight in our team first policy should he be given the opportunity.Comment

Read somewhere that Adelaide weren't too keen on Sumner. Can't remember where, or the exact details. I'm tipping a swap for Meredith. Would be a more or less like-for-like swap, but Meredith is a bit more solid, Armstrong a bit more dynamic. Suits what the two club need, really. We could throw in a late pick as a sweetener, perhaps.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment
