Did you notice who got the most? The Kangas & Bullies got 10.2 mill each. Two clubs that have proven over the years that they can't stand alone. I feel sorry for the Bullies but not the Kangas as they have been offered everything on the planet & turned it down. The sooner these clubs merge the better off the AFL & footy public will be. Melb, St Kilda & Richmond are next! The Saints make the GF two years running & are still in trouble, it makes me wonder what financial genious is running that club! the other twoo need to merge too, imagine the strip, blood red, blue, black & yellow oh @@@@! they are the Crows!!Comment

Don't let the facts get in the way of your story mate. Perhaps if your home games were paying off Etihad you may have a different view. More informed minds than those that appear in these forums have determined the compensation and how it has been arrived at. And it isn't as if Sydney has not been a beneficiary of the AFL's largesse before. Good luck next season.Did you notice who got the most? The Kangas & Bullies got 10.2 mill each. Agree, get rid of the kangas IMO or send them down to hobart, they are such an irrelevant, no one gives a @@@@ about team....if they went down to tassie they may actually get a decent supporter base and also have more than 15,000 turning up to their games each week. Why they never went to the gold coast just baffles me.Did you notice who got the most? The Kangas & Bullies got 10.2 mill each. Two clubs that have proven over the years that they can't stand alone. Do you get many Boo-a-Roo supporters at your home games these days?Don't let the facts get in the way of your story mate. The Tasmanians deserve their own team-a real one, not some cast of scrap that couldn't pull a crowd if they paid them.
It's quite fair to suggest sending the Roos to themChillin' with the strange QuarksComment

I think that's good at goes someway to provided clubs with the ability to fund their football department and other off-field activities/staff.
Happy to see Sydney with a good slice.Comment

My Brother in law barracks for the Roos and is good friends with a number of the players. The reason they said no to GC was because they had no facilities or a stadium when they were asked about going there.Agree, get rid of the kangas IMO or send them down to hobart, they are such an irrelevant, no one gives a @@@@ about team....if they went down to tassie they may actually get a decent supporter base and also have more than 15,000 turning up to their games each week. What about scrapping a team with a minuscule supporter base in an area where there is too much competition, very few juniors and will need to be propped up by the AFL for apparently the next 20 years. GWS?????Comment

They were promised a stadium though, as well as something like 100 million over a number of years.
They need to make something work over the next 5 years. The AFL have no reason to prop them up forever, they were so successful for so long over two eras in the 70s and 90s and still struggle for support. I think their Hobart move is pretty smart, has the biggest population in Tasmania and could maybe get something going there similiar to Hawthorn in Launceston, but the reality is they have to drive growth in Melbourne for them to survive there. Can't see it happening.Comment
