Michael announced his retirement on 5 October 2006 at only 29 years of age.[6]
After his retirement it was speculated that he wanted return to Melbourne to base himself there while playing football semi-professionally for a local club.
Comeback
However, on 24 November 2006, Michael shocked the football community by reconsidering his retirement. To the anger of the Brisbane Lions, he announced that he had been signed by the Essendon Football Club and had reached an agreement whereby he will be selected by them in the pre-season draft for the 2007 season.[7] The decision infuriated the Lions, who believed that Michael had exploited a loophole in the draft to change clubs and they questioned the sincerity of his retirement.Comment

Your point is well taken. But for a big fist full of quick dollars, I'd happily come out of retirement, no matter who my true club for life was. I might even spend a few bucks from the new contract to take out membership with my club for life, just to ease the conscience
GWS are looking like a mix between a TAC Side and the Brisbane Bears circa 1987 retirement longue recruitment policy at the moment. Weird old mix of players.Comment

Um.
If Baz is coming back to Sydney, he's going to find a MASSIVE difference between living in Maroubra and living at Breakfast Point.
Shouldn't have sold your house Baz. Once you get your foot out of the Sydney real estate door ....Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Won't cost him much more than in Maroubra. Although I think he'll probably rent one of the terrific apartments in BP.
