I don't mind the guy - plays with a bit of passion and spark, even if Blues supporters were never quite sure what he was going to do on the field from one match to the next. Not that I'd push to greatly to have him, but if he's the best option in a shallow pool of available talent, why not? As long as he's happy enough playing a number of games in the crappy NEAFL instead of a decent second-tier comp.
Swans and GWS after ? hAilp

I'm with the above posts (re Setanta). We are looking to be a top 4 team. Why would we want to take on someone who is not in Carlton's top 26 players. As noted we already have White, Spangher, Morton, and throw in Pyke and Everitt and then Walsh, ... why would we want another player who is unlikely to be in our top 22 now or ever.
I would prefer we use all our picks on young players - a la Hanners, Reid and AJ.Comment

(I do like the name though, and what other linguistic challenges do we have now that Tadhg's gone? Keeping the Jarrad/Jarred's straight isn't enough, and the Johnson/Johnston thing no longer applies... )Superman still wears Brett Kirk PyjamasComment

If there's one thing I've learned after eating lots of egg related products after the trading period is not to write off any decision our club makes related to matters of recruitment.
Could be a change of scenery might bring out the best in the big fella...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

This is a serious test of faith in the recruitment department. I suppose they are the experts in this matter, so will leave it to their best judgement. I think.............In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

At least Jesse wouldn't be the most frustrating player in the team anymore...Comment

Exactly, I am generally a fan of the recycling of players from other clubs, but in this case I think we should see what else we can get in the draft. If he happened to fall through to the PSD then maybe pause have a think and ..... but even then, no.Comment

I see the merit in picking him up, but mainly as back up for LRT especially given how much footy LRT misses thru injury.
The main pluses on picking OhAilpin is that he is 199cm and can play forward, defence or pitch hit in the ruck - as a depth player he makes sense to pick up.Comment

maybe maybe not
we could also be bumping up or decoying for who we really want........."be tough, only when it gets tough"

maybe they view him as someone to play on the big FF's..Teddy aside he doesn't have an overley large frame and sometimes gets outbodied in the big guys..ala (hawkins, Pods)
though we do have a good backline sometimes we get caught out in height i reckon, maybe they view him as a back up to LRT consdering LRT's body is beginning to let him down more often than not.
PLus we cant keep using Mummy the way we have otherwise he will be burnt out in a year or 2....
You also ahve to remember sometimes as frustrating as he his there has been on occassions when he has popped up when the blues needed someone, kicked a big goal...etcComment
