That's a pretty damning indictment of the standard of the NEAFL, when the Swans are telling prospects to play elsewhere. Sounds like he should get himself into a VFL or WAFL squad and then hope to get noticed from there...

Jono I think it is also a challenge to KM to fight for it if he wants it enough. Its up to him now.

Also Jono, I think it's more of the Swans telling Kane to get out of the SFL and into a stronger comp. It wouldn't surprise me though if he plays for East Coast or Sydney Uni in the NEAFL next year.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I would guess it also depends on what else he has going on in his life and if study or work would keep him in Sydney. If so hopefully he'd get plenty of chances as a toppie again in 2012. If not, and if he is totally committed to trying to get on an AFL list, he would have to head to the VFL or WAFL...

The Swans told my mate Jack Pratt, played 2 ressies matches this year, to go to the Gold Coast next season for more opportunities. He is signed up to play for Southport Sharks, GC Suns Feeder?

Nice to see that the club is encouraging the boys to look for avenues, make a possibility/opportunity instead of just saying not good enough. I guess they learned a lesson with Kirky. Never say no to a bloke.

So what happened to Real Commando? Will he be back this year?

Looks like they've got a new strength/conditioning coach in this article but doesn't say whether Real Commando is helping out.

He would be most welcome at Glenelg in the SANFL and they have a good record of developing rover types. Hodgeman, McGuiness, Gibbs all came from Glenelg. Chris Massie the ex-Carlton & Adelaide player has just been appointed coach and Kane could do worse than being coached by this bloke. He took the Glenelg U/19's to a Premiership and was on track with the reserves last year when asked to take the caretaker role in the seniors. The reserves eventually won the premiership under Kan McGregor. Massie has a good record with young on-ballers.
