I don't think Jewels is begrudging anyone a PC but she does hit on a good point here. Why would you fork out $85 at the start of the year if you can wait and see to see how the team plays and then pay the money. You might see the demand for PC drop next year unless there's a cost incentive to pay it up front...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I pay every year for PC, it is my choice, I am not forced by anyone. If my fellow swans fans want to attend the grand final, I applaud that. It does not affect my tickets. I still get to go to the grannie. I find it staggeringly elitist and selfish to complain that fellow swans fans have the opportunity to watch their team play in a grand final. Or, even worse, they should have to pay more than me.

Agree that it's wrong to deny supporters access to PC club as Annie had suggested. However I can definitely see that the club next year will most likely have a drop in demand for PC at the start of the year as people wait and see. This will adversely effect the revenue for the club. PC is an included part of my membership but if it wasn't I'd be tempted to wait as well. One way around this is to make it attractive to pay it up front and dearer if you want to wait.Comment

Disagree, I am happy many more swans fans will have a grand final ticket garantee. I have no desire to make them pay more or be part of some elitist group that somehow makes me more of a supporter because I paid at the beginning of the year. I very much doubt the small number of pre-purchased PC will even vaguely be affected next year. There is a great deal of talk about wanting more people to go to games, then selfish comments like these are posted...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. I'm in agreeance with Annie and Kirkari, if people want a guaranteed GF ticket four rounds out from finals, then they should have to pay more and I mean considerably more for the privilege then those of us that have enough faith to get it from the start of the season.
I pay for four adult memberships - all with premiership club, next year I may as well leave it till four weeks out to see how we are going before parting with the extra dollars.Comment

Nobody is being elitist or selfish, our point is simply that next year many people who automatically get PC included in their membership will now perhaps wait till later in the season to see how the team is performing before committing to it. And what does discussion over PC membership have to do with wanting more people to go to games????
I (and I'm sure Al, Kirkari etc) do not begrudge anybody Grand Final tix, I'd be happy to see every member get a guaranteed GF tick, my point is simply that there should be some incentive given to get it included in your membership and if you opt to not take the option at the time of renewal, you pay more if you wish to get it later. I don't understand what it is that is so hard to understand or is so elitist.
Ok, next year I'll wait till five weeks out!Comment

I'll have a go Al but sometimes words just don't work.

I know it'll never happen because of the way the ticket allocation works with the GF but I'd like to see all the ticketed members of the competing clubs be guaranteed a seat at the GF...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. All the fun was taken out of getting grand final tickets when they brought the registration thing in 2006. In 2005 we lined up and slept out at the Scg and I would do it all again. It made it fun. My dear friend and former RWOer Aussie Ange, was interviewed the next morning she was delerious. But we got the queue ticket and Her late husband ( who passed way 12 weeks ago tomorrow) went and bought the actual tickets on the Sunday so it was a group effort. You just can't please all of the people all of the time. It would also be nice if the AFL allocated more tickets to the competing clubs - 50/50 split Competing clubs verses the rest.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

They release a few thousand to each club in the gf.
People with pc get first dibs on them.
If there are still some available then normal members have a chance to secure some.
During the week if there are non club tickets still available, then the general public.
So it is possible, but you have to be on the ball.Comment

2) A number of others have suggested fellow swans fans should pay more for a gf ticket. Why? Because they paid earlier and feel aggrieved, and it should give them some advantage. Despite the fact they have got what they paid for (a gf ticket)
3) One poster does not want any swans fans to be allowed to get a GF ticket preference unless it was bought at the beginning of the year. Why? Because they paid upfront and don't want anyone else to get the same benefit as them. Despite the fact they have got what they paid for (a gf ticket
It is points 2 & 3 I find elitist and selfish. I hope that is clearer?Comment

1)At least Big Al is suggesting that the club is somehow going to lose out next year because PC numbers will go down. I don't believe that has any substance.
