Big Al has covered a lot of my favourites, however there is one goal which I will always remember. I was about 10 yo and in my fourth year of going to the Lake Oval in Sth Melb to watch the swans. I liked going to games with my Dad & Mum, brothers, uncles, aunts & cousins. Bobby Skilton was my idol because all the rellos said he was the best, but this was the day I really became hooked on the game. I don't remember who we were playing or who kicked the ball into the forward line but I certainly remember watching Keith Baskin running full tilt towards the ball. He didn't have time to pick the ball up as there were players bearing down on him. He didn't change his stride but jumped in the air (an amazingly high ballet leap) and kicked the ball through from in front of the point post. From my vantage point I thought he was flying, it was poetry in motion. From then on I didn't miss a second of the rest of that game or any game since. Heaven forbid anyone who blocks my view of a game. I don't want to miss the chance of seeing that sort of magic every week.

-Kel's incredible effort v Norf
-Robbie Ahmat runs and runs and runs v Norf

- Maxfield from the boundary to win the game v Norf
etc etc etc
Great memories
Tadgh's "oh boy that's as good as it gets" is a personal favourite. Kell's goal against the Roos at the SCG in 1999 was, for sheer crowd reaction, the best I've ever seen (and I was there in 2005 GF too, so I don't say it lightly).
A couple for the older brigade. Paul Hawke kicked one in the early 80s which, if I recall correctly, began with a run from behind half back (at least as far as Robbie Ahmat went). And as a kid I saw Wheels Bedford kick a goal with a snap back over his head from the impossible angle at a mud-soaked Moorabin ground against the Saints. I'll never forget that one.
Plugger just before quarter time in the '96 Grand Final was pretty damn good too. I also have a personal fondness for BBBBH's running goal from 45 degrees and about 45 metres against the Saints in the 2005 Preliminary Final. With all due respect to the Schneiderman, once Bazza kicked that one I knew we were home.My opinion is objective truth in its purest formComment

Ray Lucev's goal in the 60's from the forward pocket at the stand end. Was lined up alongside the point post with only an inch of daylight between the sticks, on his wrong side. He went back and kicked as straight as a dye, straight through the high diddle diddle. No checkside, no screw kick, just a dead straight drop punt. As perfect a kick as you could get. I was sitting in the stand right behind him.Comment

Favourite goals from the top of my head:
- A lot of the goals in the 2005 Preliminary as stated. I particularly liked Michael O'Loughlins goal where the two Saints players panicked and successively tapped it into the waiting hands of Micky O.
- Also liked a couple in the 2003 final against Port particularly one of Darren Cresswell where he received it at half f orward after Craig Bolton switched it from the half back line. Cressa was miles on his own ran in to about 45 and then with great deliberation and withhout panic steadied with a couple of half steps and "bang' straight through the guts! Loved that game because the Port supporters were just stunned the whole match.Comment

This post brings up some great memories.
The only one that sticks out for me that hasn't been mentioned already was down at Kardinia Park in either 1979 or 1980 (memory is a little sketchy on this one so I hope I don't fludge too many details).
In my recollection it goes like this:
Game one of the season and new recruit full forward John Roberts takes a great mark late in the last quarter with Swannies down by 3 points. Siren goes immediately and he calmly strolls back and slots the after the siren goal (his sixth of the game)for the Swans to record a very unexpected and hope building win.
I think Johnny went on to kickaround 60 classy goals that year but didn't have an impact in later seasons.
I just remember a very contented car ride home that night with mum, dad & Aunty singing the song in full voice and looking forward to a promising year ahead with our newest hero.Silence is golden

- Barry Hall's "They can do no wrong" goal in the Last quarter of the PF against the Aints.
- Schneider's "And the Swans are in the grand final" goal.
I was at the Sydney Aussie Rules Club (R.I.P) watching the game that night and boy was the atmosphere electric in that last quarter. Never jumped up and down like a mad man (until the next week of course oh wait and maybe the 2005 SF against Geelong)
I remember chanting along to "We're going to Melbourne clap clap clap clap clap We're Going to Melbourne clap clap clap clap clap." after we did the damage.

That goal by Stevie Hoffman to beat Collingwood by a point was absolute heaven, two years earlier in 1968,Bobby Skilton took the ball from a boundary throw in outer end,Albert rd side, kicked it round his body from thirty metres, acute angle and jogged back to the middle of the ground, did not look or wait for goal umpires decision...he knew it was through the big sticks on our way to a 16 pt win.......what a goal, what a win!!Comment

The other memorable one for me was Schneider's in the PF. It sealed the game, it caused a mass exodus of Saints fans to the exit (being the helpful guy I am I directed to them to said exits) and it caused mass jubilation in our area behind the goals. That was a good night.Comment
