So being a Melbourne based supporter who comes up for 3-4 games in Sydney, would I be better off booking a seat for games at SCG now? Or do you think it would be still OK to just rock up on the day and swipe my membership and find a seat?Comment

None of the games will sell out, so you'd be pretty safe rocking up on match day. If you want a reserved seat, it might pay to check beforehand.Comment

It will be interesting to see how our attendances are affected by the redevelopment coupled with the impact of the Greater West Whatevers.....Comment

Here is the project report from September, 2008, I am sure there has been further changes since then, but this gives us a guideline as to what is to happen.
http://www.planning.nsw.gov.au/asp/p...03_scg2_ea.pdf
Virtually all the increase is going to be for members. There will be a small increase in the non-member seating (c. 500) but the bulk (c.2000) is for members. Not a bad thing for the Swans, I'm guessing, as there's normally still space outside the members' area.
The new stand will not extend from the Members' Pavilion right to the O'Reilly Stand. The Lower Messenger (and the tunnel below it) will remain, but the seating will be realigned up from the concourse, with the Upper Messenger removed and a bigger screen/scoreboard where the current one is. There's a separate roof over that part too.ConradComment

Question with the redevelopment.
If I go Red Zone again can I still get my preferred spot - which is standing at the bottom of the Ladies Stand?
Or will I not be able to access this part of the ground as they'll filter me direct to the VT Stand which I believe is a separate gate?-Comment

Unfortunately, the lower level of the Ladies Stand will also no longer be available for Sydney Swans Red Zone members. This area will now be exclusively available for Sydney Cricket Ground members.

Red Zoners were E Mailed by the Club today
Relevant points:
We are located in the Trumper or concourse
Can still buy guest passes
Have the option of transferring to a concourse (gold) reserved seat at no cost (offer till 15th Feb)
Club negotiating to improve bar and catering in the Trumper (good luck with that)
Those who stay in the Red Zone will get priority to get back in the members when building is completed.
I'm hoping we get behind the goals, so the seating is "like for like". There will be mailout soon showing exact location. Reserved concourse is no go for me because Mrs ORB likes a high up view, Brewongle is no go because of the cost of a family membership there. Guess I'll give the Trumper a go.Pay peanuts get monkeysComment

It's amazing to me that members would withdraw their support of the club on account of having to move seats for a couple of seasons. No games are better than a different view of them? You'd think this might be a time to consider that the club actually needs its members to stick with them - with the SCG redevlopment rather inconveniently co-inciding with the arrival of GWS. It's not like this was a decision within the club's control.
PS - and big thumbs up to those (hopefully most) who are just looking for clarity on where they'll be sitting.Superman still wears Brett Kirk PyjamasComment

Im not in Trumper but in the churchill just to the left of the goals, Im 1 row from the front and the view is fantastic, I was offered to change seats due to re zoning but i wont give them up unless I could get the front row. The Trumper is at same elevation directly behind and also to the right of the goals. We did start in the 2nd tier of the churchill but it was too far away and too high, luckily the membership team found me new seats. (if only they could get me to the front row hint wink) )
Hope you get the seats you want
Cheers
