47 is Potter. You have to bear in mind he is 19 and has been playing with the reserves team for the past two seasons. His strength and fitness base are going to be much better than 17 year olds playing their first game, as is his understanding of the game style. Can't question his endeavour or toughness but it is questionable whether he has any stand-out attributes that are going to elevate him to the elite level. The Swans must still think he has something of a chance as he is back this year as an overager, but also some reservations since they didn't list him at the end of 2011.

I can confirm that the siren was blown on the last quarter of the ressies at 19.45 minutes

If it's so there is an hour between the ressies finishing and the seniors starting, just commence the first quarter of the ressies 15 minutes earlier so we get a full quarter of play.

That's my first ressies match so not sure if trunkated last quarters are the norm.

Thanks Liz, to me he just seemed composed and got plenty of the ball. Agree that to make an AFL player you need to have something extra, be that height, speed, X factor. There have been plenty of ok AFL players without standout attributes but to make a premiership side you need more players with outstanding attributes. Far better to fill the last few places on your list with players who may be a lower % chance to make the grade but if they do make it then are likely to be special. I'm thinking someone like Cunningham here.

It's happened before however that's the first one under 20min. We've had a couple of 21min at the SCG over the years.

Thank you liz, ugg, r'n'r, Primmy and others - between you all, better than what the media give us for the 1sts. Much appreciated.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Potter is 19? Sheeze, the body (I have seem him shirtless.......lets just say couger alert) is that of a much older man, he was giving Tommy Walsh a run for his money. Ah well, lets see what happens next.

Lamb not in the best? Seems contrary to what you guys have been saying.

And Seaby BOG? Wouldn't have thought so from the reports.

No I would not have said that Lamb was in the "best" he is just working his way up to that position......it was just great seeing the effort being applied and observing his ability to read the play.....hard head, will get there.....not like some other ressie players who work their butts off but you can see they won't "get there". I think I am being fair.
Mrs Pyke twittered that 28 year old birthday husband was injured (not great for birthday)....that's why we didn't see him in second half.
No problems with Seaby being deemed BOG, he was about the biggest thing out there....

I thought I posted this before but clearly I didn't... Josh Cass is a gun - I've seen him play in the last couple of years for the Norwest Jets and it's great that he is being given an opportunity at this level.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

That COULD be a slight exaggeration.....wasn't it just so awful satch....had no idea who the players were....all I could think was "at least it isn't Malcolm moaning about something that isn't even relevant to the state of play, be grateful....." glass half full, glass half full, glass half full......

                                # 56 Josh Cass, won our Seniors B & F last year at 17/18, has moved onto Balmain this year for more opportunities. Absolute animal, not a good idea to run at him.
