For people like us that can access the internet it's not a big issue but for someone like my dad he relies on the newspaper. I had to tell him about Lloyd being nominated.
There was a pretty big article in today's Heral Sun about Lloyd winning a Rising Star nomination...

Ah ok I haven't seen today's paper. I was expecting it to be in yesterday's edition seeing as it was announced on Monday.

        I like this bit
While Melbourne clubs whinge about the Swans being able to buy in big name forwards Lance Franklin and Kurt Tippett, Lloyd and Cunningham continue to highlight that most of the club?s players are rookies and rejects who could have been chosen by any club.

You are correct dimelb, but so was I.
Goes to show that you cannot believe everything (or anything) that you read. Same article Aug 19 by Adam Pengilly, but different pictures. Collie Mail has Shane Biggs against St Kilda. The Age has Jake against Brisbane.

            Ah, these out-of-town tryouts!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I don't think it's announced until late arvo on the Monday! That's why it would have been in Tuesday's papers

Not sure if it because it is a Melbourne paper or just poor editing, but the article by Michael Voss in The Age today refers to our midfield including "Leroy Jetta". Surely Lewis has been playing long enough now, and consistently well enough not to be confused with Leroy!?

It's been a couple of years since he was called that. Can't believe mistakes like this can be made.

Not sure if it's the same one but there was a photo on the Age website accompanying an article of 'Leroy Jetta practicing goalkicking at ANZ stadium' which was actually Lewis at the SCG

I heard him called Leroy by a TV commentator just a few weeks ago.

So far it's never happened with Adam and his brother - yet.

These people need a taste of what QI provides: darkness, klaxon sounds and the offending word flashes on the screen.

Rhyce often gets called Heaf, and I've also heard Sam referred to as Ben. (And Jarrad as Mark. On many occasions. Including when Mark has been sitting in the commentary box next to the culprit.)

Yep. Brain and mouth don't engage at the same time. Game is moving too quickly.
