Going back to the interchange error, I heard them say that the swans(Longmire) may challenge that goal, ask the AFL to remove it because of percentage. Now I dont know if the AFL will do this, doubt they would, but if they did, it would change things.
Currently Adelaide are in 3rd with a percentage of 165.91, we're 4th with a pecentage of 164.41. If they remove the goal, our pecentage goes up to 173.21 and we jump Adelaide and go into 3rd place!!!

    CHALLENGE SWANS!!!!!! CHALLENGE!!!!!

Freo would still stay in 10th place, but their position/percentage may factor into the Haw vs Geelong game today.

Still easily best 22. He's simply terrific at winning contested ball when he really has no right. He's a bit like Jude Bolton about 5 years ago in that regard; best 22, sets a fantastic physical example, but does make cringe-worthy errors at times.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

He's been out of sorts for a while Benny. Another poor performance and I would drop him personally. Need to show mediocrity is unacceptable.

Agree his form hasn't been great so far this year. But I think it is almost impossible to make a case for anyone in the reserves coming in and doing a better job in the hard running, mid-cum-small forward role with the occasional tagging task. And even while his form is a little down, he is still putting his head and body over the ball, recklessly at times.

Good for you BSA5. Benny, when all said and done, fights like a dog, ok, maybe an undersized bulldog. His best will come, he is still young in footy terms, he doesn't give up, has second and third efforts, always has a crack. Inaccuracy is an issue yes, but we think MickyO is a champ and may I point you towards the goal kicking yips he had? Even Kell handballed to a mess and set the 1996 campaign backwards. Noone is calling for Adam's dismissal yet but he is not at his best just now. @@@@ happens. Its how you deal with it. And I have full faith in Benny dealing with it.

I actually thought McGlynn had a pretty good game on Saturday. There were 2 pieces of play that were particularly outstanding (perhaps innocuous too) that summed up his game. In the 2nd quarter when he dived under Sandilands to draw a free at HB and then in the 4th when he chased and affected the disposal of a Freo player on the wing (it was about a 50m sprint and chase) which got turned over, went to LRT who got it to Goodes who snapped his 2nd which gave us a much more comfortable buffer. It's efforts like that those make it impossible to drop him right now despite a few (admittedly poor) skill errors. Incidentally I don't think he was not within his rights to take a shot at goal when he got that tap on from Goodes. And he is normally a good set shot for goal.

He played on Hill for bits of the 2nd half and did a pretty decent job in any case, so I think much of the criticism of him is a bit OTT. Point is you can't drop him for a few skill errors while discounting what he gives us in effort, tackling, defensive pressure, pace, goals and ability to play a variety of roles.

I had a good look at the Ressies on Saturday. It seems to me me that the 22 we selected for last Sat Firsts was the best we had available to us.
No one stood up in the twos to walk in for Benny..no one stood up to even walk in the shadows of McVeigh (now there was a weird suggestion from someone) , for all his odd disposals, Reg has no one nipping at his heels.
Lamb.. yep, but not quite yet..
                  Heath..probably..not yet...
Pykie..the effort of Seaby in the ones prob put Pikey back a tad..
Nipper..haunted by sloppy disposals in the 2nd half..but gets the ball...sooner rather than later
Doggie..best football brain there, but body won't let him do it all..marked as future coach
Lockyer..maybe the next Reg, but body needs to develop further.

So, all very well to suggest Firsts players lack this or that..no one is perfect. But someone BETTER has to replace..there is no point in change for the sake of it..the best 22 each week have to be selected.

I am sort of OK with the fact that The Goodes is not setting the world on fire at the moment. For a while there it seemed that when things were going badly in a game, he was the only one capable of lifting the team. He is 32 so it is not good for the team to have been so dependent on him for spark. How good was it to see Kennedy step up on Saturday, especially in that last quarter.

If Goodes hangs out in the forward line, takes out one of the best opposition taggers and then LEADS THEM AWAY FROM SAM REID as the ball comes in, he will be doing OK. Of course he needs to do at least a couple of spectacular things and kick a couple of goals per game as well.

                      Not much depth.

But Marty's dropped mark was pretty pathetic as it was straight out chest mark. Reg is really one of the worst disposers of the ball, it is as though he is nervous. He seems always to either underdo or overdo.

Heavens above, just occasionally could we say a few positive things about the team? The ball was camped in the Freo 50 for the last 10 mins of the game and Marty, Reg, Teddy, Lewie, AJ, in fact ALL the team did pretty damn well to stop them scoring, but lets just focus on the negatives instead.
Even a damn good, hard fought Swans win doesn't seem to placate the negative nellies on this site lately.

We are 2-0 for goodness sake, that's pretty damn good in my book.

Just because you keep saying this doesn't make it fact. Looooooooooooooooooong way from the truth.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.
