Ah the memories....2005....what is a website for??? Bartering, that's what. I had just had my first kid, had no spare cash but seeing as I lived out of town (Buxton/Marysville) I made a deal with Bron. She paid for my ticket to the Saints Prelim ($60) and I picked her up from the airport at 6.00 pm. I said, "Er...just stand out the front and look for the 1989 White Falcon station wagon with the Swans scarf across the dashboard". We made it through the rush hour traffic to the G - just.....well it was better than spending the dough on a taxi, eh?
Bron turned out to be a perfectly attired Sydney lawyer/marketing/corporate type who doesn't hang around here anymore....and I moved to NZ 'cos I had another kid....and our district sort of burned down :-("I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment
