His tackling was great but he really needs to work on his contested marks, he was beaten everytime. Not even spoiled just outmarked.

Everitt had his best game for the club and more than likely his best game of AFL. Played like he belonged - he'll stay.

Walsh put his hand up today in thr Ressies but I'm buggered if I can find someone to drop. I was thinking White but it seems he did more than what I saw at the ground)

      In: Goodes and Smooch
      Out: Rohan and Armstrong.

Didn't think Arnstrong did anything wrong but Smooch has to return and the rest of the defence were outstanding.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Is Jack any risk of getting looked at for the hit on Swallow?

There were a couple of bumps - including one by McGlynn - that were close but just safe I reckon.

I agree with the Goodes-Mumford-Smith for Rohan-Seaby-Armstrong change. Armstrong wouldn't go on the basis of how he played. He has had his taste, stood up well and should drop back to work on what he learnt today. Not worth passing over Smith's tagging ability for Armstrong against an outfit like the Hawks, unless he's not fit.

I was so impressed with our performance today. North were in such good form, and we rolled them without Goodes, Mumford, LRT and then Rohan. This is our crunch game. Beat the Hawks and we are genuine top four contenders. Lose, and we're on par with the Bombers, Crows and maybe Freo - not enough for a flag.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

I think it depends how we lose, if we do. A loss under 3 goals in a quality game would mean we're still serious contenders imo.

              Mummy for Seaby
              Goodes for Rohan
              Smith for Armstrong (unlucky)

White belongs and must stay. Everitt gets a stay of execution.

I think I agree but something niggles me about the Hawks, in that I'm not 100% convinced they're serious top four contenders themselves, hence the above judgment. I kind of see a win againt the Hawks, when taken alongside our win against Freo, as us proving we're better than the fringe players.

The Cats, Pies, Eagles and Blues are still the benchmark. I think you'd be right if we lost respectfully against on of them.

                But fair point nonetheless.

I rate Hawthorn but I see what you mean, they have more down games than Carlton or West Coast but you can bet your life they'll be up for it against us. If we beat them in Tasmania there's no reason we can't finish top 4.

Smooch unlikely to fly and play. Probably another week away.
                    In Goodes/Mummy if fit
                    Out Seaby/ROhan

This looks most likely, after an inner ear thing they won't want Smith flying anywhere, and they might run him in the ressies anyway, those things can knock the crap out of u. Seaby has to be unlucky, the sub rule destroyed his career because it changed the way the second ruckman has to play as well as shortning the career of other ruckmen who will have to carry a bigger load. Horse didn't sound all that confident about mummy though. On his effort today White stays, and probably would anyway until LRT is back unless Pyke is setting the world on fire that I'm unaware of, unless we have other injuries or someone else gets dudded at the MRP, they won't change too much

Defender Rhyce Shaw, who did a terrific job on Brent Harvey, called it only a "pretty good start". With Hawthorn next up in Launceston, the Swans' reluctance to get too far ahead of themselves may be understandable.

They still doubt us down there in the centre of the universe, I wish I could use a quote from deadwood here, but, it's a family forum. I didn't realise the ressies were playing in Darwin, so I have no idea what will happen with Smith, not that I had a real idea to begin with

I think that was written by James Dampney, he covers most of the Swans stuff. He is generally pretty honest and fair when he talks about Swans.

                            I doubt Mummy to play.

Injured week off, comes back, injured week off, comes back? Nah.

reasoning: They have no dedicated ruckmen (Hale and Roughie).
Early in the season, no need to risk.
Also he has to get on a plane with his back after the game.
Seaby and White played well/very good.

                            So why roll the dice?

I agree, don't see mummy playing this week, nor smith with travelling. I would almost leave the side as is, unless LRT is fit to play.
