2 certainties are that Parker and Hanners will play, probably White over LRT, although they will want LRT back in as asap to keep his match fitness up, toss up really, tough on Jesse if he misses out, if Nick is fit he will come in for Armstrong and someone would have to seriously fall over for Walsh to come in
You can't argue with a sick mind - Joe Walsh

IMO we should build on last week....no room for LRT this week.
          Smith for Armstrong
          Goodes for Rohan
          That'll do me.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

The way White played last week is the way I always thought he should play. It's been noted many times that he was a "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" guy. But in throwing his weight around for the first time he proved he can play that role. That was a breakout game for him, and going forward i'd expect it to be the measure of an average game, with a lot of improvement to come.

He has to play. He has to play the forward/ruck role.

If Reid is allowed to develop at the top level, so should White. Losing that role to LRT would be a step backwards IMO.

We'll see the future direction of the Swans on the weekend.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

i would add that the Hawks have a very short backline, and keeping White in might be a great way to exploit that.

LRT would definitely be handy In defence plugging up some holes. We do recall what a supposedly injured Buddy did to us last time dont we ?

LRT's last game was better than whites last week, it's stiff but LRT is still more versatile than white and we need that for this game. Can be swapped with Grundy or teddy if they are having an off day in the back line. White cant.

I thought Lewis was good against Freo, but I don't know that it was particularly better than White's game against North. I think Jesse'd be tough to miss after putting together a couple solid performances on the trot, but I love what Lewis brings in wild abandon to the role.

Small sample sizes, but I think there's a fair gap in their ruckwork over the first two games.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

The article on the Swans site said it was from the injection, not necessarily the syringe. I wouldn't be blaming the person who gave him the injection, there are probably many ways you can get an infection from an injection. It's more likely to be bad luck.

The Cortisone would not cause the infection but in stopping inflammation Cortisone lowers the immune system. People can have an immuno reaction to it. The other thing to remember is that in giving an injection during a game the conditions are not ideal. There is the possibility of dirt from the jumper or perspiration mixed with soil entering the injection site. Cortisone itself would not cause an infection but combined with these conditions it may be a contributing factor. How do I know this? I have lived for 25 years with a life threatening illness that affects the immune system. In that time I have been given anti-inflammatories and ended up in hospital with pneumonia due to a compromised immune system.

On such a large ground there is an argument for playing both White and LRT. Means we can have two tall targets in the forward line at all times, as well as giving the team the flexibility to push LRT back to play against Hale or Roughy in defence. The fact that Goodes can play as a genuine mid, and a quick one at that, reduces the risk of that making us too tall and cumbersome.

You're in the wrong forum, Liz - you're making too much sense.

Unless I'm reading too much into John's words, I expect that may be his thinking as well. He seems to be calling out Lewie's versatility and floating the idea of playing both.

Agree that we should play LRT and White, this week and going forward.

                                Who to drop though??
