    Shattered for Gary

Really feeling for Gary Rohan right now. Reportedly been working his backside off over the summer and barely four games in he's gone for the year. I don't know what exactly but I wish there was some way we could let him know that we're all rooting for him to have a speedy recovery and come back better than ever in 2013.

(And yes, if you hadn't noticed, I really do love Gaz!)

Edit: Nice to see all the players on twitter getting around him and wishing him the best.

Just a suggestion - don't go looking at threads on a different, unnamed board about Gary's injury.

Just need to wait for the doc's verdict (hopefully tomorrow!) - and hope it's not as bad as the vision suggests.

That was my initial hope, but sadly it's all but confirmed he'll miss the season, straight from the Horse's mouth:

"He's got a terrible broken leg and is out for the year," Longmire said after the Swans' win that took them to 4-0 for the season.
            Rohan's season over

Shocking injury, really feel for Gary right now. Not surprised that Channel 7 only showed the vision once.

From some of the talk - missing the season is the best outcome. They are talking about the end of his career (which I don't believe in the slightest). As I said - don't go there!

Just want to hear from the Swans docs to tell us exactly what happened and their prognosis.

We shouldn't ignore the fact that this could be career ending. Depends a lot on the nature of the break so we should be able to tell somewhat how hard its going to be for him to come back, and come back to his previous quality. What ever the outcome, its awful news for a young kid who was set to light this season up.

I suggested this in the match thread, but I think sending a card for him to the club (for those who are inclined) might be a thoughtful gesture. Or perhaps we could ask Jenny to pass on a collection of messages? Certainly he's going to need lots of love and support.

I'm sure all the supporters who have access to twitter send messages of support to @RohanGary @sydneyswans I'm sure Gaz will end up getting them.

It sucks! Everytime i turn up to the footy with my Family i tell them all this will be Gary's day. Id already pencilled him in for 4 as i knew the boys would be pumped for the Match. With Goodes out a few up front had to stand up.

Couldnt have wished for a better start. How cruel and unfortunate that ended so quick yesterday. Lower leg breaks near the ankle are bad, bad news. Looking forward to a positive outcome though.

I did the same thing - shortly after that first goal within seconds, I turned to my partner and said 'this is going to be a great game for Ga ... wha ...? Someone's down? Who ... OH insert string of unprintable curses here.' Loved him since, running out on to the field, he did a mad head-waggling mock-jig in Taggggh's face as they both laughed. Spirit and talent, he'll be missed this season and I wish him the best of all possible recoveries.

                        I'm fuming about this!
The north player slid in with his studs up. Where's the so called duty of care?
Deserves 6 weeks but probably won't be looked into.
This is certainly a career threatening injury.

Wishing you a trouble free, speedy recovery Gaz.

Absolute horror injury. I'm sure he'll get the very best surgery and care, then let's hope those young bones heal fast. All the best to the young bloke.

I'm not surprised this happened, he's been kamikazeing around the field this year.
Although this was a very innocuous attack.

Wonder in the Norf player will come under scrutiny for sliding in feet first???

                            Mend well, and quickly Ranga!!
                            We miss you already.

I have always had the tendency to compare Gazza to a young Brendan Goddard - well he broke his leg quite badly early on in his career, and he's ended up ok.... I look forward to Gazza getting back out there and lighting it up in 2013...
