I miss the former Channel 9 Sunday afternoon coverage that teamed up Brereton and Cometti. Two intelligent guys and excellent callers. When Channel 7 first teamed Cometti up with McAvaney, Cometti seemed to get a little irritated; kept answering McAvaney's inane rhetoric questions. They've settled in now, which has neutered Cometti a bit. Nevertheless, while I get the frustrations mentioned here, at least they know the players and are capable of insight.

Brian Taylor is terrible, unlistenable. I'd not heard him before he moved to Channel 7. Seems we're stuck with him every Saturday night.

I only caught some of the smart replay of Sunday's game but Harley's special comments were promising.

Finally, noticed Brereton did the Giants game on Saturday. Hopefully, he's not just limited to their games in Sydney.

I have to say, that I have a very high tolerance for commentators, I quite like Dennis, I never had a problem with Kellie Underwood and Bruce doesn't bother me when he sticks to calling the game. But even I draw the line at BT.

Who is this BT - does he have a real name? Never heard him before this year's C7 commentary. Assume he's some Victorian hotshot?

Brian Taylor (born 10 April 1962) is a former Australian rules footballer and AFL commentator on the Seven Network and Radio 3AW Football. He played with both Richmond and Collingwood during the 1980s.
Taylor was only 16 when recruited from Mandurah, Western Australia, to the Richmond Football Club. The moustached Taylor, known as "BT" and "Bristle", began his VFL career with Richmond in 1980, and had the misfortune of being a full-forward at the same club as the legendary Michael Roach. It was for this reason that he was left out of the 1980 Grand Final team, and he eventually left the Tigers at the end of the 1984 season, having played 43 games and kicking 156 goals. His height was 191cms and his weight was 102 kg.
In 1985, Taylor joined Collingwood and quickly became a favourite. He kicked 100 goals in 1986 to win the Coleman Medal, the highlight of his career. Due to repeated knee injuries, Taylor retired from playing in the AFL at the end of the 1990 season at only 28 years of age. He had played 97 games for the Magpies, kicking 371 goals.
In 1991 Taylor became playing coach of Prahran in the VFA, taking the club to the finals. In 1992, after he had kicked 16 and 9 goals in the opening two rounds, Taylor's knee finally gave way and he retired from playing. Continuing as Coach, he again took the Two Blues to the finals. Taylor retired as coach after the 1993 season.

                and a bloody hopeless commentator.

Brian Taylor. He played for the Pies in the 80/90's. He is by far, no questions asked the WORST commentator of all time. He was also dreadful when he hosted Fox League Teams which is now hosted by the lovely Dermie.
I shall never get over the idiots comments about Pyke, unforgivable!

Was it Taylor that kept going on and on about Mal having the Lars knee reco and that he'd never be right to play again or am I confusing him with someone else?

Dennis Cometti is fabulous on twitter. His latest:

#AdamGoodes, #LindsayThomas - the only slide we are really keen to see in the #AFL is @Collingwood_FC's slide down the ladder.

If you didn't know better you'd think he was a parody of a 70s footy star escaped from the Late Show.
