It works the same for footy mechanics. My favourite "remove to improve" is having young footy players play a game/do some drills with their favoured hand behind their back- it's one of the best things I've come across as far as a ratio of time versus immediate success, a lot of kids can get their leg swing okay on their non-preferred side and it's the ball drop that can be a problem for them- being forced to use non-preferred hand onto non-preferred foot for 30 minutes pretty consistently improves a kid's non-preferred side kicking. Everyone with a little prodigy at their disposal should give it a go.
I prefer to see him having a shot at goal with his preferred foot tied behind his back.

I think it is all psychological. He can kick a long goal but get him anywhere under 50 metres and he goes to water. Purely psychological! What happens is the closer to goal he gets the more nerves or goal fear take over. He then starts to drop the ball badly and his run in becomes uncoordinated. He also drops the ball too high allowing it more yardage to go off the line of the foot. Get him to a sports psychologist and it will be fixed in a jiffy.

They should make him sleep with goal posts on either side of him in bed.

As I understand, the Swans are trying to keep the lid on it.

This thread has now hit on a very serious issue.
Maybe some blokes at my work need to do their business whilst listening to their Ipods.

I've found that when I'm at work with my iPod in, my posts on RWO are generally of much higher quality.... So I'm all for it for Sam...

So you've only purchased an iPod recently then.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Must be the same everywhere. I swear some blokes in the office put a blind fold on, spin around 14 times and then take aim.

Which is probably what Sam needs to do to improve his kicking.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Sam ranks 22nd for disposal efficiency at the Swans at 67.31% - one place above our beloved Brownlow Medal favourite, and four places above McGlynn who officially has the worst disposal.

He's kicked 4-7 from 28 kicks, making him equal ninth highest with Andrejs.

My source said that Sam was kicking everything at training on Wednesday. I would think his issue on game day is between his ears. Since he is a smart bloke, I expect he will get it right sooner rather than later.

Note to Self: Sam is probably a degree smarter than some of the posts in the previous pages......

Maybe I shouldn't keep listening to Nikki Webster's greatest hits when I'm on here....

Yes, same problem ... his ball drop is all wrong.
