While I agree that LRT could give us an additional option down back, last weeks game suggests the coaching staff will not make use of that option!

LRT could have been swung onto Walker, but he wasn't.

So if the coaches couldn't see him competing against Walker and in the ruck, does it raise question in any other RWOers minds about exactly what the coaches want from the backup ruckman.

You misheard that - the answer to replacing Goodsey is "Jesse White and Tommy Walsh and Morton."

eh? All 3? sheez, I know we pushed the limits with the 19th man incident. Can we squeeze 21 out there?

              Who's second Ruck?

White would be playing Goodes role.

              I think
              Out:
              LRT, Goodes
              In:
              Pyke, White

If Benny M's ankle is still sore and the reason for a slight down turn in form, then TDL in.

As we know they are loathe to make sweeping changes. So i'd say 2 max.

From "Footy: An Aussie Rules Dictionary"

"Utility Player: They have tried him as full forward, they have tried him in the centre, the wing, full back and even in the ruck. Actually he isn't much use in any position."

Everitt hasn't given us much so far, I would be tempted to give some of the young blokes from the 2's a run as sub and see what they can do. Best options to fill the gap would be to retain LRT in the 2nd ruck, give White a run as 2nd tall in the forward line and leave him there, see if he sparks up again. Then sub one of them off for a hard running player. That gets us in trouble if we have an injury early, but watching 2005 games, when we had Ball and Jollly in the ruck, Hall would take ruck contests inside f50 and it worked well, why not try that again? Realising that White is not Barry, but I'd prefer to retain LRT to Everitt
You can't argue with a sick mind - Joe Walsh

We need 2 of White , Walsh, Morton, TDL to come in. Wouldn't mind seeing and combination of 2 of these as long as 1 of them is White.

Everett offers nothing as the sub imo so,
                      What about..
                      Out: Goodes, LRT, Everret
In: White/Walsh/Morton, TDL, Nipper as sub
                      ???

Goodes, LRT, Everitt out for Nipper, White & TDL.

White to be back-up ruck and Nipper to be sub.

                        TDL to play forward pocket.

Swing ROK to full forward when White's in the ruck.

I still get flashbacks to the Hawthorn win a few years ago when White crashed the packs up forward and TDL licked all the crumbs up like the good little burmese kitten he is. We can still get this right. C'mon Horse, sort it out. Whether it's TDL or not. White up front with Sam - attracting defenders. Either bringing the ball to ground or creating space for players like TDL/Nippa/Morts.

YES! I hope to god this happens. Anything to see TDL in the team really, Nipper as a sub would be a nice plus too! Just get rid of Everitt and LRT as a forward.

Having a look at the reserves highlights, a feature is Pyke regularly handing the ball off for someone else to kick a goal. I Ugg's summary from the ressies (Thank you Ugg, it is always a great and informative read) last week it was said he got to lots of contests but failed to hang on to grabs. When Pyke has played firsts, when in the forward line one thing he has done well is to hand goals off to other players and we know he is OK in the ruck.
This is my second go for this week but maybe
                              Out: LRT, Goodes
                              In Pyke, Walsh.
Having Pyke/Seaby, Walsh, Reid in the forward line may stretch a lot of defences and I think Pyke has the ability to maintain pressure in the forward line with his ability to tackle.

                                Is Walsh ahead of Morton?
