Awesome work by Mr. 1%er as Lucky Knickers said (or should that be 101%er instead). Always gives his all, here's hoping he stays for quite a few more!

well done marty. favourite memory of him is definitely the game saving tackle on danyle pierce against port. think he was running into an open goal when they were 7 points up, marty came from nowhere to tackle him and get a free for holding the ball. we kicked the last 3 or 4 goals of the game to win it, but it might have been a different story had marty not made that tackle. been a great servant over his short time here. hopefully he's here for a few more yet.Comment

I love the way he times his spoils. He has such great closing speed that, on TV, it looks like his opponent is well in the clear and about to take a chest mark when all of a sudden the flying mattner comes from off-screen with a fist to see the ball smashed over the line. He must suck the opposition into thinking his man is in the clear each time but he does it nearly every game!Comment

Marty well done!
He is great at leaving his man to help out his teammates. We could also have a highlight reel of just his tackles (including the two mentioned above) and unfortunately quite a few of him being tackled!
Congrats again MartyComment

I think Paul Roos referred to him as "Super Marty" after one of his patented come-from-nowhere flying tackles.Comment

Without exaggeration , he is one of the elite when it comes to courage.
I am delighted to note that Martin's decision-making has improved greatly this season.
You don't expect a bloke nudging 30 to get better , but this bloke has.Comment

Wow, those went by in the blink of an eye. I think we did bloody well out of this trade (which was essentially Mattner for Schneider and Dempster). I'd take Mattner over Schneider any day, and while it's fair to say Dempster came good, nobody could have predicted that. He was steak knives, and probably would have been delisted anyway.
Can't believe Mattner is going to be a 200 gamer in two weeks as well. Probably the quietest 200 games you're ever likely to see, but he's been a great contributor, and his form this year has been excellent.
Well at least we know he can tackle!Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

A couple of preseasons ago I wondered whether Marty might be on the slide as his pace dries up and a fully fit Eski + draftees might force him out as the running halfback/winger he was when he came to the Bloods. Instead he becomes a lockdown defender/3rd man up spoiling and tackling machine. Just love how tough he is at the footy and how every week we get the same efforts. While as a side we've been known to have a few days off on gameday, MM is always one who has a crack. Love the dazzling handsome man.Twitter: @tp_roseComment
